Babyliss heated rollers question ...can anyone help?

What are those bloody metal pins for that come with the rollers? The plastic clip things I can manage and they keep the rollers in place but the instructions for the metal clips just say '20 additional hair grips' without saying how I am supposed to use them. Have tried every which way to get hem to hold a roller in place but no luck. Am I just being really thick? Help PLEASE

are they like little knitting needles?

you just push them through the gaps in the rollers, in one side and then into the other side - the side thats pressed against your head, it just helps secure them.

yes Kitty, just like those but they don't seem to stay put. My hair is very fine and they just slide straight off. Will try again right now

then they go around the rollers like in the picture and the two points of the 'U' stick into your hair,

see the pic.

Have you moussed your hair before putting them in?

That gives your hair some 'grip' and also helps the curls last.

try not to put them in on freshly washed hair, IFKWIM, if im using rollers I always wash my hair the day before I find they stay in a bit better and dont slip as much.

I did mousse when I washed hair yesterday and sprayed with hairspray after rollers were in. Should I spray a section before rolling as well?

NP, what 'product'? My hair is v fine and straight as a die sadly. The heated rollers seem great at giving it some wave and body, but it just doesn't seem to last long.

my hair is straight and fine too

i use a volumising spray at the roots, and i spray with hairspriay before i roller. and after.

wait til rollers are COLD before removing them
and spray with hairspray again when rollers are out

Oxocube - I'm also at a loss with those metal grips, they just send the roller rolling out of the hair! The black clips are good, though you need tog et the spacing just right as the clips won't clip too close to each other.

I've got fine hair and am currently loving the Charles Worthington Dream Hair volumising spray.
