Hi. Im fed up with shaving. I have very dark hair which grows back really quickly. Haven't got time to get waxed and wondered if anyone has used an epilator and how much they hurt?! Thanks

They hurt a lot.

AND they don't leave you smooth like they claim to.

Half the time the hair breaks and leaves you stubbly.

I hate them.

Instruments of torture.

Love mine. Less painful; and more controllable than waxing. Can do it on shorter stuble than waxing. I do get some breakage of the hairs - so I just repeat a week or so later. The slower you go and the shorter the stubble (I am known to do mine when I am hairy rather than stubby ) the less breakage

Over a period of time less hairs grow back and they will be finer (so you get away with a bit of fine stubble).

Having said all that I only every use it on my legs.

No Pain!

My DD uses one, even on her armpits! She has patches where no hair grows back on legs as only ever epilated, never shaved.

Don't do it!!!
I bought one on the recommendation of a friend who would put herself through any pain for her vanity.
I was in agony. I had all the stubble from hairs just breaking off so nothing is smooth. I am ok for shaving as I am very fair but if I were you I'd get some Immac

What ones are supposed to be the best then? Hair removing creams are no good for me.

I've got a Philips Satinelle Sensitive - truly it doesn't hurt! Find I get less breakage on armpits than legs though - think it's just to do with the thickness of the hair. Have very fine hair on legs and the effect is not so good as on armpits. Sorry if tmi!
