Help me find a bag!

I want a bag to take on holiday with me.

I have a black bag, and a brown bag (both smallish), but want a neutral bag that will go with anything I wear - it cant be too big because i want to use it in the evening when I go out, and it needs to go over my shoulder.

What would be best - white/cream/gold/bronze? Also what type of bag - dont want a tiny little clutch bag as not that dressy, but one to wear with linen trousers or skirts.

Also dont want to spend a bomb cos its only for holiday!

sounds like a good excuse for a poke round the shops to me - Primark are pretty good for cheap bags
