I need some "attractive" long sleeve tops. Below a list of shops that are supposed to have organic and/or fair-trade women's clothing or clothing ranges. Any other suggestions where to browse? I don't like to catalog/Internet shop for clothes. TIA.

M&S, New Look on Oxford St. nr Marble Arch
H&M, Knightsbridge.
Top Shop, People tree range, Oxford Circus.
The North Face store at Covent Garden.
American Apparel, Curtain Road.

In Camden: Mossberry, Equa Clothing, Braintree Hemp.

Ganesha, Gabriel's Wharf, SE1.

Monsoon have been rated best on the High St by Ethical Consumer. There must be one somewhere near you. i don't know about organic but their worker's rights are excellent.

Remember that although most chains will stock Fairtrade and organic clothing ranges they won't have cleaned up their act with their other products and people will still be getting peanuts.

Thanks for tyring to help, SE-Astra. I'd worry about bad fit, hassle of organising returns, if I bought tops remotely. Any other places anyone can recommend?

Well, I'm back from my shopping expedition for organic/Fair Trade clothes you can try on before you buy. It was pretty unsuccessful; almost nobody selling long-sleeve tops; only short sleeve tops. Feeling very frustrated. Back to charity shops for me, I suppose, but even they mostly only have short sleeves in stock, right now.

North Face owns Ellis Brigham Mountain Sports (across the road in Covent Garden) and EllisB carries the Patagonia range.

Best selection by far (variety, sizes, prices, styles) was in the New Look Marble Arch store. 2nd largest (most varied) selection at the Hemp Store at Camden Lock.

Nothing in M&S, Top Shop had one style of tunic in many sizes and bright colours, I bought some items in H&M and the Hemp Store.

American Apparel mixes the organic cotton stuff in with everything else on racks you can't reach, all thin cotton aerobics style clothes (nothing organic in a style I liked).

Equa was closed for the bank holiday, stuff in window looked nice, though.
Didn't make it to the other shops.

More shops I just found out about -- might try next time!
