Never took much notice of them before, and have discovered a bit of hard skin on the bottom of one of them, and, I am cringing even as I admit to this, but I habit of picking at my toes nails, so they just look awful, how do I do a home pedicure, and what do I need to do it, and anything else that you think might help me would be great

you need to get a pumice or something to file off the hard skin and the moisturise moisture moisture. stop picking your toenails and paint them!

What about a pumice stone, are there good ones and bad ones or will any do?

I think it will have to be barbie pink, I am too pale for red, besides, won't my nails end up being all yellow if they are painted red?

Flexitol - 10000 times better than pumice and no dead skin in the bath.
If you really want to sand them get a proper chiropody sponge and read the instructios carefully.

If painting a strong colour always use a base coat to stop it staining (ordinary clear polish will do). And a top coat will make it last much longer.

One more question, how often do I do the soak/file/flexitol thing?

think the flexitol tube advises you - (not too often else it will dissolve foot completely )

there's also a fab German cream called Gehwohl which is similar (ie contains urea) but is less easy to get hold of in this country.

Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream is my favourite thing to use for the problem you describe...and it has a long term effect.

OK, so which is best?

I have heard of something called Pedikur sold on QVC website (www.pedikur.com/) which sounds good.

Atrixo handcream worked for me where all else (including cracked heel cream) failed. It is cheaper too!

Flexitol is very good. Getting a professional pedicure is lovely and then you can just do upkeep.

Had a pedicure this morning and now have lovely toes with french manicure and 3 tiny little daisies on each big toe-nail! (I know nail art can be chavvy but this isn't - trust me! It's just SO pretty! Nearly crashed car on way hom as kept looking at my toes!
