Hair dilemma

I am thinking of going blonde (highlights)as I had blonde hair about 5 yrs ago and loved it.My natural colour is strawberry red blonde a bit of a mixture and I have very few grey hairs 1 or 2 BUT when I saw the hairdresser today she said at my age(!)which is 42 I would have to accept that I would probably never see a full head of my natural colour again and I would have to be prepared to say goodbye to my red hair for good. Now I know in the scheme of things this is not exactly a problem but it has made me feel really old and scuppered my plans of being a blonde goddess for the summer Shall I go ahead knowing I will have to dye it forewver now or leave it be?

nice hairdresser!

have the highlights, if you dont like it they can always be coloured over

sorry don't get it,why can't you have some blonde highlights put through your strawberry locks.
She's a doom and gloom merchant !

hmmm, interesting that a hairdresser doesnt think that grey is could be a natural colour - it certainly is in my hair! Maybe she has a lot of requests for grey highlights?

I don't think that grey would look nice if your natural colour is a strawberry blonde. I don't mind a bit of grey in brown hair, but in your case I'd do the blonde.

I don't really have grey.I understand what she means as it would take a few years to grow out and if I just leave it the new hair may well be grey So getting my natural hair back to this colour would not happen unless I dye it.She thinks I should stick with my natural colour as she likes it

That's always the way, my hair never looks so good as it does the day I'm going for a drastic chop.

So did you do it? How does it look?
