I think it's lovely,if you have the legs it would look nice as a dress alone .Would also suit leggings.

ShinyHappyPeopleHoldingHands · 28/05/2007 17:51

Oh thank you! No.. not got the legs for wearing it without anything underneath..

Is it dressy enough (with leggings or something) for what may be quite a dressy-uppy party.. (oh God the party-thrower is a Mner. please don't let her see this! )

What shoes???

Think it's lovely - go for it!

I like it! Looks versatile - as dress, black or white trousers, leggings?

wurlywurly · 28/05/2007 17:52

its lovely, would go nice with footless tights and flat ballet pumps

You could wear it with jeans after too, so you get your money's worth. Or, I would! Its really nice; only thing I personally wouldnt like is the round neck. I've been looking all over for a similar thing with a v neck.

What characteristics don't suit a round neck then? Do they make you look fatter? I need not to look fat! (Don't we all! )

Or it is just a personal pref..?

Really appreciate all advice.. but need to not buy something that be right; can't afford to.. should I? Shouldn't I?

Personal preference. Dont panic! I feel strangled in round necks. Plus there's not much thats girly about me now, so I reckon a bit of cleavage doesnt do any harm

Have bid.. it's up in 1 min.. so must watch..

Was just worried as saw one of those threads that critiscised "cheap versions" of these kind of things the other day.. but can't afford an expensive version!

Ooh, mummy like! Would look nice and dressy with cream/stone linen trousers, or maybe to dress down with jeans. Hope you win it!

I got it! Thank you lovely Mners!! Someone bid at the last minute so it went up to £9 but I still got it for a bargain! I have seen how much they are in New Look (reason I hadn't already got one.. well that and not knowing whether they were "cheap and nasty" looking!)

Can you point me in right direction of leggings/trousers/shoes now? (Don't want much do I!)

I have some plain black lycra leggings but don't think they would be dressy enough..

Oh God I haven't a clue! I didn't used to be this hopeless in the days when I had a social life/a few spare quid to spend on myself!

Oh thanks for this advice.. am all excited about clicking on the links; have never had a thread in the style section before! (No guesses why.. sad cow! )

Song bird, can you likn me to some trousers in the type you a thinking of ? Don't worry if it's an expensive version; I can look for a cheaper version!

We ought to have a "style on a budget" section
