The l'oreal sublime bronze spray one is very good.

I like fake bake - not orange, not streaky, and not too smelly.

I'm a nivea girl myself, not smelly, cheap n not streaky..oh and firming too, always a bonus

Interesting no one so far recommending the daily moisturiser ones - Dove/Johnsons holiday skin etc

the nivea one is a daily, I much prefer them as less chance of streaking (once being a ambre solaire duo tan girl I know a few things about streaks ) I don't like johnsons and a lot of people allergic to it I'e heard...

I still like the Johnsons holiday skin

I like the palmer cocoa butter bronzer, I don't use it every day, but it is quite good.

I'm using Piz Buin mousse for fair skin at the moment. Very easy to put on and only goes streaky if you use too much! Not at all orangey or smelly. I tried the Johnsons holiday skin but it didn't seem so easy to use, more difficult to rub in, and since I don't like to use a daily moisturiser, takes more effort to build up the colour. I'm using the Johnsons Holiday daily moisturiser for your face though and that seems quite good.

Hmmm ... I'm waiting for some sort of consensus to emerge here ...

I have seen the st tropez daily one recommended, but haven't tried it.

You got a long wait then

franch are you dark or light skinned? If you're dark skinned/tan easily think that l'oreal is qutie good but johnsons better for paler skins.

also quite like the clarins one (face one that is mixed in moisturiser quite nice for even fair skin ) and origins one for body.

L'oreal Nutrisummer gets my vote. It's one of those everyday moisturiser ones. Good for fair skins but you have to buy separate ones for face and body.

I liked the tan I got from Johnsons but it also gave me a sporadic itchy rash. As has the Dove one. (And I don't have sensitive skin so ?)

So I shall be watching this thread with interest...

Clinique - the lotion, not the mousse. Excellent.

thank you motherinferior, that sounds quite good, are you going to get it?

motherinferior · 29/05/2007 20:35

I might. I'll try it in jeans-wearing weather first, though!

Just watched 'look good naked' on Ch4 and they did a survey on fake tans. The winner (Sorry can't remember the name) was £25 - but the runner up was by Olay - it was around £6.

They didn't like the Johnson one at all or Estee Lauders.

I've just started using the l'Oreal anti-cellulite one for fair skins and am pretty pleased with it. Better than Johnsons and Garnier, which I didn't really get on with at all. Unfortunately I've over-done my knees and they look nicotene stained - NOT a good look!

St Tropez every day is very good (the Fake bake I recommended is not every day, tis quite dark) - and really makes your thighs feel smooth and uncellulitey. Gentle colour, very natural, and hardly any pong.
