Where can a petite person find long leather boots that don't look like fishing wellies?

My faithful Campers (six winters of wear) have finally been retired and they don't make the model any more. It seems that every other pair of flat, long boots I try on gape at the top, are too high in the leg, are too 'welly like' around the foot and generally look like I've mugged a gardener.

I really like boots the end high on the calf rather than at the knee, for wearing with skirts to work and skinny jeans at home. The ones I've been trying on actually touch my kneecaps, which feels very wrong!

I'm not tiny- 5'3", size 10-12 but small framed. My shoe size is 37. I was wondering about going for one of the teenage ranges, like Johnnie B?

Any ideas about where I might be able to find a pair of long boots for the winter that don't look like I'm off to catch salmon?

Ive just ordered a pair of black knee highs off Very. Im 5'2" size 10.

Lets see how high they are though! Got a pair of lovely pull-on suede boots from Asda last year for £20. Most comfiest pair ever. Look good with a woolly dress in winter. They were fitted to as I find a lot of boots suitable for people with fatter calves

You could try Duo, as they make boots to order, but a) their designs are rather frumpy and b) their smallest calf size is 30cm which is too big for me and maybe for you too.

I buy stretch suede boots by Peter Kaiser, available at John Lewis and online, and have them taken in slightly.

LK Bennett usually do stretch suede boots in the winter, too.

Very boots going back.

I could easily fit another persons leg in them.

That's a bugger op, I have a long pair of flat, black campers that I never wear, but I'm pretty sure they're a 36. Sad will double check after the baby has woken (need to move cot to get into wardrobe)

I'm a short size 3 and finally found my boots in Aldo after much searching. Generally I found the british brands were cut bigger than Spanish/Italian brands.

Pull on stretchy boots are the only ones guaranteed to fit but I've always found the stretch goes after a while and I'm forever pulling them up.

OP you sound of similar build to me, and last year I had a pair of these:

Very warm and cosy for winter, reached to top calf height, and looked good with winter work dresses. I got mine from Very but they don't seem to have them this year... yet.

Hi.
Try prettysmallshoes. There great for petite small fitting shoes and boots.

Thanks for the ideas. I think that Italian and Spanish brands may be the way forward. My other pair of boots that fit are Furla (8 years and still going strong, you get what you pay for!).

Will look at Aldo, have never heard of them before. :)

I agree European boots are cut smaller. Look out for a French brand called JB Martin on //www.spartoo.co.uk and //www.sarenza.co.uk.

Also checkout //www.yoox.com for a big range of Italian brands.

Duo boots are a UK brand that sells boots in different calf fittings so caters for petite and plus sizes.
