I bought a buttonless shrug cardigan type top from Matalan yesterday.
3/4 sleeves, sort of heavy, firm fabric, not flowey softy.

And it's plum.

Not a wine, burgandy, royal or reddish purple (I looked all round to find something to wear under it, there was one top that had a colour in it , but not my size)

So, I need a nice, thin textured, preferably sleeveless / short sleeved.
I'd like a pattern- floral or paisley (I love paisley) or abstract.

Don't want to spend loads but not fussy where it's from.
I'll take a fragment of the hanging ribbon to get a match in colour (near enough)

So, anything out there?
(I'm 48 yo, size 14-16 top ) Would wear with leggings or jeans.

Black goes well with plum though: black top over black leggings & paisley scarf might work out cheaper if you already have a suitable black top in your wardrobe. I share your pain as I bought the Crew thick corduroy skirt in the sale - it's called cherry, but is plum, am now trying to work out what to wear it with this autumn...

YY , I used to have a long chenille cardigan in the same colour that I wore over black polo top and leggings.
Maybe that's why I instantly fell in love with it (and now need to consider what to wear with it)

Autumn/Winter always calls for plum. 'Tis Law.

There's some nice ones on the New Look website (my DD likes New Look) but I do like the Dorothy Perkins one too.
Depends on the shade of plum.

And some on the Bonne Marche website but my Mother shops there

That New Look one doesn't have too much of the plum colour in, so would most likely go with your shrug and it's good value and I think it'll also go with my skirt. Thanks, Wildthong! Happy hunting 70s, you wouldn't catch me buying from Bonne March? either, friend's MiL from Hell always in there!

I saw a gorgeous TShirt in New Look that was black with white and purple flowers (might buy it tomorrow, DD has a gift card that I'll prise off her )

Got a vest top with black/purple/white/green (IIRC from Select) .
Still looking for a paisley top.

And I didn't buy from Bonne Marche, I'll leave that to my Mum for now
