What's your budget? I tend to wear mid heels for work which I can manage in.

I wear brogues with a-line skirts.

Alas, totally missed your last line about not liking brogues. Loafers maybe?

Loafers - no :-( i want pretty / stylish without the 'cute' ballerina factor but total practical enough to wear all day and walk in. Once i had a lovely pair of clarks mid-heels that fitted the bill but they didn't fit after having DD. Why do feet change shape after pregnancy? - lol have just remember how surprised i was at my belt no longer fitting post pregnancy!

Dorothy Perkins are quite good for low/mid heels.

Dorothy Perkins have got some gorgeous pastel coloured loafers.

Really comfortable and would look great with A line skirts.

I'd be looking at Dune, for mid heels, rather than Dorothy Perkins, as DP shoes seem to all be vinyl. Leather is far more comfortable to wear all day.

The Dune Appoint heels are £65, come in a range of colours, and are leather, and leather lined. Plus, they look good. www.dunelondon.com/appoint-pointed-toe-court-shoe-0085503940021484/

I need my shoes to be very practical and can't walk in lots of shoes but have a great pair of clarks ballet / pumps which I can walk in, very comfortable and have lasted two summers. They're not cute either!

However just checked the website and they don't do them any more. They have perforated leather and are gold and brown with a strap across the toes, also come in black if you're looking elsewhere.

Lucy choi do fantastic low/mid heels. Look on outnet for lots of styles. They're not high st prices but are fantastically well made and comfortable.

Ps without sounding like your podiatrist, don't run for a train in ballerinas, they're dreadful! Wear a trainer and get changed at work.
