I have recently discovered MAC - I had been addicted to Benefit but have been disappointed with a few products and to be honest can't really justify £25 for a blusher.

Anyway - I just get flummoxed when I get to the counter because of all the choice and I have bought a couple of lipsticks that I have decided I don't like after.

I'm after a raspberry colour lipstick and blusher - especially for autumn.

Any ideas so I can at least narrow it down.

I love Plumful for autumn.. Which is a lustre plummy colour and capricious is perhaps more raspberry toned. If you go on their website and click on the shade you like it describes it for you... I find this really useful.

I don't know if the 'raspberry' applies to the lipstick only, or also the blusher, but I use MAC creme blush in Ladyblush. Apparently it's one of those 'universal shades' of blusher that suit almost everyone.

I highly rate MAC products - have been using them for years and they are fab.

There eye primer is very good.
I really didn't like the mascara I bought.
Made my eyes sting.
What MAC products do people recommend?

I find with MAC, the easiest thing is just to ask one of the staff. They have always been very helpful in my descriptions of 'red, but not solid' or 'coloured, but not in your face eyeshadow'

ihatethe cold - I love their eyeshadow, eyeliners, foundation (esp the face and body), and lipstick/lipgloss. Not so keen on their mascara

I can recommend their blusher, foundation (Studio Fix Fluid, love it), and powder eyeshadow. All excellent for the price, esp the foundation.

I use their Desert Rose powder blush
It's a really red/ pinky colour , great colour pigment
Love all their eyeshadow s and wear ruby woo matte red lipstick a lot
Love Mac in general

As said before, just ask at the counter.
They will probably narrow it down to a couple of colours for you to noose which one you like best. Tel them if it is for everyday wear or for nights out or whatever.

I LOVE MAC products and find it really tricky to choose too!

My staples are:
Pro-longwear concealer (literally covers any blemish or mark)
Studio fix powder foundation (evens skin tone and lasts all day)
Eyeshadow in origami
Brow pencil (really subtle, lasts forever)
Gel eyeliner (again lasts really well)

As for the colours, I find that paying to get your makeup done by one of the counter girls is so worth it as you find new stuff that you love.

Enjoy x

Why not book in for a makeover? They are £25 and it's redeemable against products? If you are planning on buying a blusher and a lipstick you'll spend that in any case.

If you're after a raspberry red lipstick, then how about Mac Red? If you want it more pink, then maybe All Fired Up?

I really like the Frankly Scarlet blusher - it's very red in the pan, but on the skin it looks really good. It's very pigmented though, so you have to be careful when applying.

The staff at Mac are brilliant - I've not had a bad experience with them. They are so good at finding the products and colours that work for me.

There are some of their products that aren't that great - some products aren't massively pigmented, but generally most of their products are great. I'm not so keen on their mascaras or nail polishes. The nail polishes have recently been reformulated AFAIK, so they might be better now than what they were. I've found that their lipsticks really dry out my lips, so I can't wear them two days in a row.

Thanks for all the replies folks I have only just been able to look at them - I will have a look later - I didn't realise I could have a make over and redeem.

I probably wouldn't bother with the mascara as I don't really notice the difference with more expensive ones I like my £5 Maybelline!

I have had a sample of the prep and prime primer but I'm not sure if it would be worth the £25.
