I ordered this a while ago and it fits lovely but sent it back because although I like the print I was worried it was just too Boden-y. But now its reduced, what do you think? (be honest!). I am 35 but think (hope) I seem a bit younger. 5' 3" size 10, Would wear with black leggings & boots.

I like it, but only with bare legs and sandals. Tbh it's the teaming w leggings and boots that make it, umm, not so modern. Sorry to be harsh.

don't apologise, I kind of agree. Sadly I haven't got the knees to wear it with bare legs & sandals!

mad I don't know if you are right about your knees - so many women are so critical of their bodies, inc their knees, usually unnecessarily so.

It does scream Boden. But if you like the Boden look, don't fight it!

Thing is Belinda even if I did go with bare legs & sandals it's the wrong material & sleeve length really for a warm day, think I'd be boiling. Have ordered but bet it goes back (again!)

Yes it's very Boden but I'm a Boden person and I like it.

It's pretty, but if you want to look younger than 35 then I think that wearing this with leggings and boots isn't the way to go, unfortunately!

I bought it and I did think it was a bit bright and Bodeny but would maybe be all right in bright sun by the sea.

Took it to South of France with me, wore it for one day and felt it was way too bright and unsubtle and that it was completely inelegant and unstylish on me. Brought it home and have stashed it in the back of the cupboard ready to go to charity shop.

But maybe that's just me!

PS should add air older than you.

To be honest, if a tunic like that is what you want, I would get the one Gretchen linked to. It looks nicer.

they are great at the beach - for eating in or mooching if you are worried you are burning

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 24/07/2014 21:37

I'm wearing a long sleeve cotton blouse, today, for that reason - I burn instantly, otherwise, in this weather.

I want one for autumn/winter. I will be living in denim shorts, vest tops & flip flops until as far into September as I can!

a beach top for winter?

Report
madboob · 24/07/2014 21:55

The one I linked to is in quite a thick-ish material which is why I just couldn't/wouldn't wear it with sandals. I would definitely wear that weight of material in the winter, it isn't what you would call a beachy/summer top in rl

To me, though the material is not really thin, it is only in a beachy / summer context that its garishness could even be contemplated. ( I'm talking here about the green one which I bought). And, as noted, I couldn't stand them and the general Bodenishness even then when it came to it.
