Are these great or naff?

I ordered these trousers for my holiday, they are a very lightweight fabric and fit nicely. I'm just wondering if they are totally naff - especially with the side split.......

What's the MN S&B verdict?

Why ???

They're like pyjama trousers that a cat ripped.

I bought a kimono from them and its exactly that fabric! They must have had a job lot Grin. Not keen on the trousers or the kimono its going to the charity shop the stitching is appalling!

Personally, I don't like those trousers with side splits... I'd rather have a light, floaty maxi skirt tbh. If you like them though and feel comfy, that's what really counts :)

I really don't know how i feel about them.

I like them enough that i would wear them. But only if i lived in an upopulated land.

I think they are pretty. I probably wouldn't wear them as I am too short but I do like them. Go for it.

They'd be fine as a beach cover up type thing - I wouldn't necessarily wear them to Tesco Grin

I like them. I used to have some plain black ones that split to the thigh when I was younger for going clubbing.

I think the side split would really annoy me.

Terrible, sorry.

I saw a young mum wearing these today, and she looked ridiculous in them. Really weird and ungainly.

If the look you are aiming for is Liza Minnelli sipping Mai Tais (a great look IMO) then they are perfect :-)

I really don't like them at all.

They're dreadful, I'm sorry.

Ok so general consensus seems to be that they're awful.....what if I sewed the sides up?

If you sewed the sides up they'd be really pretty.

I think if you are tall, willowy and young they are great. Otherwise sew up the sides

I like them. I think they're perfect for holidays.

If the model (who is paid to look good in them) looks daft then what hope do normal people have? If the sides were sewn up they'd be slightly improved but I still think they'd make anyone who is not a willowy waif look stumpy.

I have a strange liking for them!

I wouldn't wear them (wrong shape and size), but if I was to have them I'd probably be pissed off by the legs flapping open. What about stitching the bottom of the split only, so the split is there but doesn't flap open and get tangled round your legs as you walk?

They'd look a bit mad if it was breezy.

I love everything about the trousers except the side splits. They are a lovely shape and a lovely pattern.
They would look lovely if the split wasnt so high. They just make me think that they are to 'fashiony'
However, i would sew the split up slightly and keep it open a bit. This would to me make you less of a fashion victim and more 'quirky' in style.
