Has anyone seen any long sleeve summer dresses? I burn instantly in the sun and even wih sun team on, my arms itch, so I am desperately looking for a light summer dress with long sleeves. My legs don't react in the same way, so the dress doesn't have to be long. Thanks in advance, I am gettin desperate. The other option is to wear a long sleeved shirt and shirts but I really hate shorts with a passion I'm afraid, my style is more fem

Yes I suppose I would, thanks. I'd been trying to avoid more layers as I don't deal with the heat very well but that's certainly an option if I can't find any long sleeved dresses

I have similar problem but burn mainly on shoulders, upper arms & top of chest. Short sleeved dresses OK for me but usually have scoop or vnecks. I tend to wear a short cotton or linen shirt over a strappy or sleeveless dress but that is too hot for days like today. Managed to find 2 dresses to fit my needs last year on People Tree and they do have some long sleeved ones in their sale but think they are stock from spring so too hot fabric for now. Have you tried tunics or kaftans? Boden have a linen tunic which fitted me well but was above knee on me & my legs aren't good enough - might work well for you as it has long sleeves. Sorry don't know how to do links but there are quite a few tunics in their clearance section.

Might not be summery enough for what you're looking for but I like that it covers quite high in the chest area which is where I tend to burn the most.

Have a look at on line shops selling Asian clothes such as shalwar kamees or kurtee, they often have long sleeves, also are unusual and striking designs.

I second Djangor's suggestion of Boden I have one of their linen tunics and they are short but might serve your purpose.

Try shirt-dresses. I got a nice one in the Hobbs sale recently. Not full-length sleeves but just below elbow, if that would be long enough?

Gap also do good summer dresses and have a sale on at the moment.

Toast is more expensive but usually do some light long-sleeved dresses.

Or, I agree with others, tunics/kaftans or hit an Indian clothes shop or website. You'd need to either be OK with baring quite a lot of leg or wear leggings or light trousers underneath.

I am slightly obsessive about these, but Wingz let you add sleeves to things without any bulk or heat. This week I wore a vest top and chiffon sleeves to protect my shoulders, and half sleeves with sleeveless dresses

Ignore the mango one. It's polyester.

Thanks everyone, some nice ones there, might have to get the credit card out today! Good idea about wings too, I'd never heard of those.
Not so sure about the worlds most expensive Victorian pyjamas! ;-)
