I've just graduated uni and my parents would like to get me a present and I would like a bag, I'm a handbag lover! So which bag would you choose with my budget?

Congratulations! I love bags too, check out Stephanie Wood handbags. She's a specialist handbag maker so anything you get will be a unique piece. Actually, I've just checked her site and there's a bag I like in the sale. Pink suede, £200 reduced to about 60.

So now off to check my bank balance. See what you've done...!

I'm currently lusting after this Michael Kors tote from House of Fraser (sorry, mobile site). Would look great for interviews outfits for your first post-Uni job. Congrats!

I would look at Coccinelle bags - they are around that price point and great quality.

I would get a Frye handbag their quality and design is really good. I refuse to buy from Mulberry now even though their prices are going down so is their quality. I bought a Bayswater just before they started their crazy price increases but it isn't great quality.

You're young, some designer bags can be old and frumpy.

I like Tory Burch especially the Robinson.

Good prices here..

If you're looking for something casual I would buy this Marc by Marc Jacobs Natasha Classic Q
I looove my burgandy version and have a few other MBMJ's as they have a kind of casual relaxed vibe (and are so practical!). Really want this black one myself but just can't afford it right now!

It looks a bit crap & square-bottomed in the pic but it's actually more rounded.

I sortov thought of you this morning when I sorted out one of the two Business Bags I use for a sessional suited-and-booted gov't job I do - large enough to take a regular size laptop, etc.etc. for my next job - but with a wow factor :).

Any idea where your future will take you? If you think you might need an executive high quality bag, might be the time to look around?

I've just qualified as a social worker, the bags I have already are the Mulberry Alexa, Bayswater Tote and the Willow. I love big bags. I will have a look at Marc Jacobs they looks nice.

I was going to say Mimi Berry too. I would get a Hebe, Beau or Zermatt

Though I saw a lovely Hebe in a brighter colour in JL recently.

Personally I wouldn't carry a designer bag to work as a social worker. Get something nice for use on night out and weekends and get a cheap and cheerful tote from somewhere like River Island for work.

I agree with Liberty. It will come across better to clients, I think.

Mimi berry every time. Beautiful leathers, classic designs that won't date, very well made (all in the uk!) and well priced. I own 4 of them, all different styles and colours.

Oh yes and no tacky bling or branding.
