I've Nc'd so my other posts aren't identifiable to me.

I have huge esteem and body issues- mainly I hate my body and I end up wearing unflattering clothing when I go out because I never find anything that suits me. When ever I look in the mirror I look shit.

I can't afford a style advisor and there isn't one in my un stylish hell local area but I'd love to see if anyone could suggest clothes that may look nice on me so I can start working on my body confidence when I'm clothed.

I know I'm in short shorts here but they're for in house only and you can see how bad everything is.

Firstly I can't really see any issues with your body.

This might sound totally silly but posture makes a huge difference.

After starting yoga I realised I added lb's to my frame just by slouching Blush

Standing taller elongated me and instantly have me a waist and more confidence...

Apart from that, what kind of look do you like? Formal, casual, hippy....

You look just like me!

What do you think is wrong with you?!

I think you look great. You have lovely toned arms and shapely legs. I know that probably doesn't mean much to you and I understand why, I have huge body and self esteem issues and I know it doesn't matter what other people tell you if you just can't see it yourself.

Get a bra that pushes your bust up. You've got an old fave on haven't you?!

Your figure is lovely.

Watching thread with interest as your body shape is very similar to mine.

Posture is a huge problem for me, I'm 5'10 and spent many years slouching to hide myself away. I should make an effort to stand tall, it's a good idea.

Unfortunately my arms are very wobbly and my thighs and stomach are massive. My thighs especially are covered in cellulite and have no tone to them at all.

The bra is a Kelly Brook push up thing, it's the only bra I own but I need to buy a proper fitting one as I've lost weight

I've always been drawn to more formal styles of dressing but recently I'm in knee length denim shorts and vests like I'm in the pic

God you have a lovely figure, so really don't have to worry. But I do know how it feels to feel awful about yourself as I'm the same (but much bigger than you). It's especially hard if you can't see what others see. I would love arms like yours!

Good undwear is the key.

It instantly lifts and tucks and will naturally give you better posture.

This should be your first port of call.

Get the foundations right and then work on the rest Wink

I'm sounding a bit like gok

You look lovely FFF, very shapely legs, just get a new bra first of all.
You will get a lot of good bra advice on here.

I'll wade in. First you look lovely. You've gone for an unflattering pose and clothes and you still look great. I would guess that you have an hourglass type shape. Next positive is I think you have chosen a really good colour with that green top. Hard to know from a photo or two but I think you might suit a bit of colour (not blacks and greys).

I like to look at pinterest for ideas and just type in random things like "casual chic" and see what comes up. As a very basic idea here's a page of ideas. Some you might like, some you might hate, but it may give you some ideas for new things, re working clothes you own and accessorising.

Hope you find a bit of more of your va va boom. I know how it feels to think you look crap but trust us…you don't

The bra interventionists are amazing. Went from a 38A to a 34F but now I've lost a stone I'm down to a 32" under bust. When I first got this bra it was great, I had good lift, I will try and get a new one/two tomorrow for starters

You have a fab figure and amazing height. Stand tall and be proud.

Do you have any friends/ family you can go shopping with to try stuff on and see what sort of stuff and colours suits you best?

You look mighty fine to me, no idea what would suit you, with your figure I would imagine you could wear most things.

In all honesty, the way you feel about your body won't be changed by clothes... It may help a little, but is unlikely to effect fundamental change.

You have a great figure, and the hate you have for it is not anchored in reality. Have you had any counselling or similar to talk about how you feel about yourself?

You could wear that outfit and wear it well. I think I'd swap the trousers fora pencil skirt like this, though.

I am 6ft 1 and have a figure a bit like yours.

I suit dresses with a shape/waist.

It saddens me that you are so hard on yourself.

Don't be.

Inspired by the recent thread on favourite quotes, may I quote for you:

"You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and stars. You have a right to be here."

Always remember that!

As to clothes, phase 8 jersey dresses suit me ( and would prob suit you) also clothes by Land's End and Mint velvet. It is feminine, but not in a Laura Ashley way, more modern, and comfy to wear. I am also a fan of people tree!

I'm not fishing for compliments, but I honestly can't see that I'd look good in it. I feel self conscious just trying these on. I do know that red on my bottom half makes me looks like Chorizo, which ain't a good look.

I have my DH and DC as my shopping buddies, there's no one nearby who can help for the moment.

I think I'm finding it exceptionally hard as everything is t-shirt styled on top and I look like I have huge boobs, so I leave stores feeling uninspired

You have children as well??! Really, you have a great body.
If you like the pic you posted then maybe try some drapey shirts with a good new bra? Massimo Dussi do nice shirts.

They do a good sale.
Second the pencil skirt idea.
