Make up help, attending a wedding next next weekend

Help! I never wear make up up and I'm doing a reading at a wedding. Think I need something to make me look OK!

Should I head to a counter in boots? Or what else?!!

Can you have a free makeover at a make up counter just before the wedding? Assuming they don't make you look dreadful. Ask for a good base, nothing too whacky? It would avoid you spending a lot of money, and allow you to try out before buying if you did decide to purchase.

To be honest though, the best way to look polished is a good blow dry and manicure.

Can you afford to have makeup professionally applied that morning? Would take the pressure off!

Lots of makeup artists also offer lessons.

Alternatively pop along to a counter - explain what you want and someone can help you with colours and application tips.

A fairly newbie proof approach is bb cream (eg garnier), a neutral pinkish lipstick (eg Bourjois naturel lipstick in Rose), a taupe eyeshadow over your lid (eg) and some mascara. Stay away from foundation and eyeliner and blush if you don't have time to practice...

Have you got a Bobbi Brown or Laura Mercier counter near you? Have a chat with them. Don't know if they still do it, but once had a great make-up (v. natural - felt fab!) done by Laura Mercier counter before a wedding for £25 (and that was redeemable against a purchase).

Good Good plan re visiting a counter that morning! I'd pay someone to do a decent job, it's in Manchester so will look for Bobbi brown or Laura mercier there. Would I need to book??
