So tell me about false eyelashes....how to put eye make up

I tried to use some ready stick ones once and they were a disaster.

So i was thinking I would try some glue on ones. I looked at them today and they looked so massive and I didnt want to shell out £5 and mess it up.

In what order do I put on

the eyelashes
foundation on eyelid
eye shadow
eye liner
mascara

I wanted to go nude look with strong lashes and glossy lips. I will be wearing a 'strong and in places bling outfit'....

TIA Smile

Hello Smile

The lashes go on Last after all base make-up and all eye make-up, even mascara.

Curl Lashes, apply mascara then apply eyelashes, curl again, gently to blend lashes together. Some people recommend mascara on false lashes, but i wouldn't as i find it ruins them.

For cheap practice lashes check out body care and super drug. Also, you can get really cheap ones from Ebay, however they take a few weeks to arrive!

Any more questions just ask. I am a lash fanatic!

Thats is great KateSpade

I will be near a body care and a boots tomorrow. This is for tomorrow night. I am nearly 40 so i dont want no Jordan looking fan on my lids. I have an oval shaped face, probably having hair up do (booked in for that). My face is quite 'strong' not like dainty, bit like Nigella.

On this info are there any particular ones you'd recommend.

I tried putting on lashes tonight. Just couldn't get them to sit right on my eyes. And then they felt so scratchy and irritating I ended up having to take them off and redoing my bloody eye make up!

Is there a technique..?

did you trim them, I dont think I trimmed them down properly last time...and I think kates point about blending the the fake lashes in with real ones by curling.

I trimmed them after I took them off as I couldn't get them to bend properly on my inner eyelid. How do people wear them everyday..?

Hi smile, you could try the 'half' ones that go from the middle to the outer corners, as these tend to be easier to put on. I used to use these when I was first wearing them, soon you'll be able to put them on in your sleep!

Primark lashes for a quid are brill! I am blind as a bat without my glasses but can put these on no problem and they last for days too if you are gentle with them.

Don't apply straight after glue, wait 20 sec or so until its tacky.

Comilla mackintosh ones are v good. And surprisingly the girls aloud ones, Kimberly I think? I have MAC ones for big nights outs

Put them up against your eye first and then trim

Ardell ones are good and look quite natural.

If you are near a mac counter I would recommend getting their glue, it's way better than the ones that come with the lashes.

Oh, god yeah sorry i forgot the best tip, what Pantone said wait until the glue is tacky. I also apply them with tweezer, so much easier than fingers!

after you've stuck them down, and you think their in the right place squeeze your tweezers together, and press gently onto the band of the lash on the inner, middle and outer corners. Then i like to gently pull at the inner and outer corners to see if they are stuck properly. I do this in a magnifying mirror.

Aswell, get lashes with a clear band like these as they blend in better with the rest of your eye make up.

All of that might be a bit late, but for future, ect. & I hope you have a good evening

I saw something on YouTube where she cut them into about 4 or 5 pieces before gluing when tacky. She said it was difficult to do all at once and she made it look easy.

One day I'll have a go myself!
