I don't mean like hill walking but walking round towns and theme parks. Not really a trainers kind of girl so not really sure what I should be looking for. Last time I tried Converse they seemed too flat, it almost felt like the heel was lower than my toes! Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Like you, I find converse to low at the back, but what I do find very comfy is Lee Cooper canvas shoes and they're really cheap Blush

I think my last ones were about £10.99 from sports direct. I usually buy a lace up pair and a pair of the slip on ones at the same time, they are the comfiest canvas shoe I have ever worn Smile

This is the ones I have at the moment here

And they're only £6 Shock

Sorry they're from £6

Skechers Go Walk or Go Run are amazingly comfortable. Not exactly pretty but it's what I wear for that sort of thing.

Oh jeezypeeps they're really not pretty are they Best1swest!! I was hoping for something teeny bit more stylish! Are the Supergas any comfiervthan converse. I know some people find converse comfy so I guess I really mean anyone else that finds converse oddly sloping downhill to heel!
The Lee Cooper look ok, will give them a try thanks Mrs Presley

I feel the same about Converse. I have a pair of Timberland Earthkeeper trainers that are slightly raised and sooo comfy. Older style so not for sale anymore but they might be worth trying. Also try Ecco, or what about fitflop trainers.

Sorry -meant to say trying something from that range as they have loads of different styles.

Fitflops, the toe post style - the most comfiest and supportive shoes on earth, your feet won't get too hot and you will be able to walk forever :)

Honestly, if you are on your feet all day you aren't going to be too concerned about the style if they hurt after a couple of hours. I have a pair of Sketcher Go Walk and they are the most amazingly comfortable pair of shoes I have ever owned and they offer support where support is required.

I have [http://www.spartoo.co.uk/Skechers-GO-WALK-EVERYDAY-x246906.php?track_id=adwo&ggnetwork=g&ggcreative=31869893070&ggkeyword=&mkwid=zANzRRZW_dc&plid=&gclid=CPvY6KmChL0CFYMSwwod5z0Akw these]] and they look fine with shorts and dresses.

Well,me being me,I manage to have non achey comfortable feet wearing wedged heels.

I can walk miles in wedge heeled flip flops in warm weather and wide wedge heels of a rubbery (not plastic) or firmer material at other times.

Look for comfortable looking bases rather than shoe style I say!

I can't praise Go Walk enough. I struggle with shoes and tend to do a lot of walking when on holiday. I don't care that they're not the most stylish shoes on earth - they're so comfortable to wear. I have them in loads of different colours!

Do you wear them with bare feet or do they rub?

Report
Best1sWest · 09/03/2014 09:30

Barefoot though I do wear socks with the Go Runs in the winter.

BetterWithCheese Can I suggest you try some on in a shop before ordering as they size up large. I normally take a 6, but my Go Walks are a 5.

Yes I'm the same as Bunbaker in that I'm normally a 6 but take a 5 in Go Walk - we'll the original ones anyway, haven't tried Go Walk 2 or Recovery. And I wear them barefoot normally - no rubbing and not a blister in sight (which is incredibly rare for me).
