Having a hair colour change to reduce the appearance of white regrowth

I'm in my 50s and currently have dyed mid brown hair. My natural colour used to be slightly darker, but now my natural colour appears to be white Shock

At present the white regrowth is very noticeable after 2 weeks. I have the roots done every 3 weeks.

Next week I'm having a colour change with a view to making the regrowth less noticeable. I'm not ready to stop dying it and let nature take its course.

But what colour would be best? My hairdresser is good, but I'd like to go with some ideas?

I'm fairly pale skinned, but have dark brown eyebrows (natural - how does that work?) Confused

Guidance please, wise ones.

Im eagerly watching as I'm in the exact same boat BUT you've got 20yrs on me, I'm only 30! Equally, I've got the naturally dark/black eyebrows, very pale skinned & was naturally dark chocolate brown hair. Many years I've not seen my 'natural' colour always dyed it darker brown / auburn tones but now regrowth is silver white :-(I'm thinking of lightening my base colour to a more honey brown and getting lighter highlights where my really bad regrowth is to try & blend it in slightly?

Hopefully your hairdresser will have some ideas :-) There scary thing for me (apart from being white at 30!) is having a lighter bade colour Hmm I've always been dark (think Irish Corrs Girls coloring!)

Good luck :-)

Shamelessly placemarking as I have exactly the same problem. I am currently mid to light brown and need to go lighter, but when I tried it previously it looked so brassy...

The link is really helpful helzapoppin

Highlights. I'm mid brine with grey coming through except I haven't seen it for a decade because I go blonde with highlights and that covers the grey.

I had chestnut brown hair but started to go white in my early twenties. I am now all white and have been dyeing my hair blonde for many years. I find warm blonde tones are best and have been using L'Oreal Excellence Natural Golden Blonde or Light Gold Blonde. Having white hair the colour tends to fade fairly quickly meaning the white roots don't show through too badly. I only have to colour my hair every 5-6 weeks. I did used to have blonde highlights put into my hair whilst it was changing colour, but it does get to the point where it just looks white :)

I have 3 colours put through mine to minimise the grey/white, it just blends in nicely now.

I am in the same position, half my hair is white at the top and at the back its still growing through brown with a sprinkle of white.
I am growing the dye out and dont really want to loads loads of lengh, I had some streaks but they didnt seem to bleach they dyed bit? Going to try again but and see if they can bring they blonde all the way through, light and maybe a bit darker blonde - fed up half and half hair looks awful Sad
