what deodorant do you use??

I don't want to smell perfumey, but I don't want to stink either! I stopped wearing deodorant for a long time as I just got fed up with it... Sometimes it would react with my natural body odour to create an even worse odour!... But now, I am ready to give it another try.

So what do you use??

I love SIMPLE roll on. It has no perfume, is not sticky (promise) and works really well. I have used it for years now and it got me through last hot summer while pregnant! Highly recommend and not expensive.

Dove Cucumber and Green Tea. I love it, it smells clean and fresh as opposed to 'scented'. It's great.

After years of using it (and then a natural one) I actually don't use one anymore (don't smell, sweat etc).

The only times I do use it are maybe summer or when on holiday somewhere hot, Weleda.

I use the nivea roll on for men. It doesn't leave marks and works really well. No scent to it, so doesn't clash with my perfume.

I used the Tea Tree one from holland and barret and loved it especially when my skin probs flared up.

I didn't mind it being more expensive than something from the supermarket ..... But gave up in disgust when literally every bottle got to about 3/4 empty and the roller lid fell off and the remaining contents spilt out! Otherwise it was brilliant!

i use the cream sticks...dove usually, but dh picked up the Sure one by mistake...tht's okay too...no overpowering smell either so no clashing with perfume

Amplex is brill, nice and gentle scent. Quite cheap too from Savers or wilkos.

I make my own, using coconut oil, bicarbonate of soda, arrowroot and some tea tree oil. I am not a lentil weaver by any stretch of the imagination, but I just never found one to buy that works anywhere near as well as the home made stuff.

Sure cream stick...it's the only one that works! I hate roll ons...all wet and nasty...and I hate aerosols too...nasty white coating. Sure is moisturizing and yet works well too.

I highly recommend crystal deodorants such as PitRok. We used it while travelling and can safely say that neither us or our clothes ever smelt despite often having to go two or three days without a proper shower

It works by preventing bacteria growing that cause the smell and is kinder to skinwith no nasty chemicals.

Also like Biosen roll on, again its easy on the chemicals and feels lovely on skin.

I've only made it once so far, as it lasts for ages, but I'll definitely be making it again!

Ok, its basically two parts arrowroot/ 2 parts baking soda and 3 parts coconut oil. Then add a few drops of tea tree oil. I mixed it all together with a stick blender, which worked quite well because the heat of the blender melted it just a little and enabled it all to mix together.

I tried a couple of containers. I refilled a deordorant stick, it was ok, but I think it wasted a lot, and when you rubbed it over your underarms you got far too much on there and it could feel a bit sticky.

The rest of it, I just poured into a tin (an empty tin of balm type face cleanser) and now in the mornings after my shower I just scoop some out on my fingertip and rub it in.

The bicarb can feel a little bit gritty on the skin, and some people complain that it is too harsh on their skin, but I have quite sensitive underarms generally (partly why I tried making my own in the first place) and it has never irritated my skin.

Saying that though I am unimpressed with the new revamped sticks. I can't seen to find and unperfumed one and they aren't a patch on the old formula.

I am trying a mitchum spray to see of that's any better.

If you don't want to spend perfumy, I really recommend using crystal rock deodorant.

You can find it in organic food stores, or several companies market them online, eg. on amazon

It's literally a chunk of minerals, extracted as is from the earth and often sold in the shape of a deodorant stick. It is soluble in water like salt, so you just apply it on damp skin.

It leaves no sticky residue like commercial deodorants, it has no scent, and it works because it is an anti-bacterial and eats up the bacteria that cause stinky pits.

I've had a chunk for 2 years now and it just lasts forever. It's super-effective, and you can even use it on freshly shaved armpits (deodorants with alcohol would sting).

Nothing natural works on me,pit rock,bionsen etc, I've tried them all. I'm not even that sweaty but I stink like an un washed work man if I don't use something hard core.

Mitchum. Usually the roll-on but stick is good too. Normally unperfumed but their fragrances are the only ones that don't end up smelling funny on me. I find the spray one works fine but feels a bit powdery.
