Seriously

She must have a pact with the devil or a portrait mouldering in an attic or maybe both

Amazing

I know! Envy
Probably lasered and peeled to within an inch of its life. Prob has good genes. I'd like to see her without make up tho I suspect I would still be Envy.
I think it's fair to say that you cannot live in LA and have no sunspots/signs of sundamage/wrinkless, even with the most obsessive SPF use, unless you live underground.

Good genes and a good skin care routine from her very early 20s - no sun, lots of moisturiser, and a healthy diet.

Methinks it's not so simple, worldgone. Sandra is nearly 50, I think. I don't know anyone irl who looks like that without plenty plenty of help. I think she looks amazing, but it's not all good food good genes SPF. There's a wee bit of extra help.

She looks so smooth....and fresh
I wonder what they do?

They have a world of treatments at their doorstep Ronald, and the money to pay for them. Sandra is 49 (thank you google), I suspect she has had lots of laser, prob IPL and a bit of Fraxel. She may well have had a face lift, she is very toned for a 50 year old. And the usual bits of Botox and fillers. Her cheeks are very full for her age, as are Meryl,s. the vast majority of us tend to lose volume in the face as we age, it's particularly noticeable on the cheeks, they become flatter. Filling that area with fillers or implants, keeps that youthful look. She goes to someone very good, it all looks wonderful.

Thanks for the link. Agree - there's a lot of help therw. To all of them, Meryl Streep and Cate Blanchet also look incredible.

JUliE Delpy on the other hand looks more her age. (Still beautiful though!)

She's had a ton of help but yes her skin looks amazing. Can't believe she's only 5 years younger than Madonna! Madonna would have done well to follow this example, all that surgery has aged her badly.

Lupita Nyong'o's skin is too so glowy and gorgeous. Great to see a darker skinned black actress in the spotlight.

O'course we shouldn't forget the ubiquitous air brushing.

Sandra Bullock is 50 this year. Meryl Streep is in her 60s. A ton of help. God knows what consultants Madonna goes to. Let's none of us go to him/her!

I disagree - I am also blessed with good skin and hardly any wrinkles - Sandra only has a couple of years on me. I was recently asked by school friends if I'd had botox or work done. The answer is simple - no sun on my face since I was 20, moisturising every single day, the ocasional facial, and good genes - my parents both look decades younger than they are.

If I hadn't been a heavy smoker in my 20s, or have a penchant for wine, my skin would look even better . I know this because I have a work colleague the same age and her skin is even better than mine.

I dislike the presumption that just because a woman is blessed with fabulous skin (and in Sandra's case an inner beauty which shines through too) that they must have had work done.

Sandra looks like she eats healthily, is blessed with a naturally slender physique, and works out, without falling into the uber-skinny look which is so ageing on other Hollywood stars.

Definitely additional help and a lot of investment.

Do a close up of her hands in the photo - that shows the disparity.

I do think she has been careful in regards to tanning though. It's nice to see a normal colored celebrity!

Worldgone lucky you!
But disagree on th sandra issue. I know plenty of people who have religiously done the eat well no sun etc all their lives, and who have also had plenty of laser etc and are thin and they look nothing like Sandra. She is line-less and 50. She looks like a doll. You cannot be so completely lineless at 50. I don't know 20 year olds that look like that. Even without sun there is the ageing process. You cannot be that thin at 50, and look like Sandra looks without a lot of help.

Grin

I definitely agree that she's never gone uber skinny which can be aging

She always seems like the kind of girl you'd like to go out for a beer with. I like her

I like her too. I think she's been a bit underrated or maybe hasn't picked/been give the right roles. I always thought she'd have been perfect as Stephanie Plum, from the Janet Evanovich novels. I don't know who they picked for that role, didn't see it. I suspect it lacked Sandra!
Apols the rambling.

She did win an Oscar though for The Blind Side. And she's nominated this year I think

The chances of Sandra Bullock's youthful complexion being 100% natural are nil. I'm not saying she's had surgery but definitely has access to the very best non invasive treatments available. Similar to Jennifer Aniston who also looks great.

Hollywood is notoriously ageing-phobic, they can barely handle women over the age of 35 never mind a 50 year old women who looks like an actual 50 year old woman.

She does have lines - if you look at the picture of her smiling, they are clearly visible.

Pharrell Williams has amazing skin too (and a silly hat!). I couldn't believe it when my dd told me he was 40, he looks about 25!

I agree squoosh. It's a pity because some of these women are very beautiful and all the interventions change their beauty. Most of them would also age beautifully. Take Courtney Cox as an example. I don't know what she's had done but it's wrong. Hollywood has a such an aversion to aging.

Meryl Streep looks amazing but it's so obvious she has had surgery.

Her face has no sagginess!

Sandra looks amazing but let's not kid ourselves!

Has anyone seen her in her latest film? She has almost certainly had a face lift. I really like her but was slightly scared when I went to see her at the cinema.

I've lived in California, I'm not sure what it is that people have done, some sort of skin peel, but what you notice is the whiteness of their skin. No blemishes, veins, pinkness on the cheeks, faint tan..... nothing. In fact they look a bit ghostly (see Meryl).

Whereas me, brought up in sunless Scotland has every blemish possible and a pink complexion, certainly not white. Whatever it is they do it works.
