Bra Suggestions, Please

I've done the bendy-over measuring thing, and the result is 37 / 44, so somewhere around 36FF/36G/38FF/38G.

I'm wearing this this in 38E. It's comfy and supportive, but I'm wondering if I should look for something that is more comfy and more supportive.

I tried the same style in 38FF, and there was a lot of loose cup at the top of the front. You can't really see from the pic on the Debenhams website, but it is a soft fabric cup in several layers, not a moulded t-shirt bra, and the fabric at the top was a bit wrinkled. In 36 band, I couldn't breathe, even on the loosest hook !

Also I tend to find that even with scooping, wires extend too far/high into my armpit and dig in.

My job is quite active/strenuous, and I find that bras with cups that are too stiff/moulded/lacy are horrible for long work days, hence why I'm wearing a soft-cup style.

I live in London (most of the time) and prefer to buy in-store rather than online (stuff tends to go astray in the post).

All suggestions of brands/styles gratefully received !

Go to a bravissimo store (either Covent Garden or off Oxford Street, I think) and tell your fitter exactly what you just wrote. Done.

I am very fussy about lace, seams and wires and have found my perfect bras there.

If the 36 was a Debenhams own brand they are notoriously small, so try 36's in other brands. I think the bra ladies on here say you tend to go down rather than up with the back size if in between unless you are very slender.

Just clicked on your link, I have that bra, the sizing is awful, I don't wear mine, I find the cups a funny shape. Try Freya deco and Cleo Juna for a similar style. Oh and if you are in London definitely go to Bravissimo

Yep, the Debenhams Gorgeous range runs small in the band (and often in the cup too). I know you said that bra isn't moulded but it is more of a plunge style which can be hard to fit.

I third the Bravissimo recommendation.

Following up (if anyone was interested), I went to Bravissimo in Covent Garden, the helpful ladies assisted me try on virtually every bra in the show, and I ended up with the Bravissimo own brand Satine in 36G.

I hadn't really wanted a padded bra (this is only slightly padded), but this style has wider wires that don't come up too far at the front (I found with a lot of styles the wires came up too high in the middle and dug in).

Vigorous scooping is required to keep everything in place, but sadly by the end of the day I have got creeping sideboob, hopefully it will get better over time.

Just about to start a fortnight of long days of physical work so I'll see how the new bras hold up. At any rate, I am magnificently be-norked ! (There's a bloke at work who keeps looking at them. I'm 90% peeved that he is looking at them, and 10% shouting "Hooray, no-one ever looked at them before !")
