Merrell Haven

Very quick question! I have found a Merrell Haven in Peppercorn (it seems dark grey) for £99 but the sizing seems a bit odd.

On the Merrell Wesbite it says Medium is 8-10 but this site says Medium is 12-14 and I really don't know what size to get.

Im actually a 10 on top but a 12 on the bottom but am very short at 4ft 10 so most coats swamp me.

Im sick of being freezing on the school run so this needs to be right! Can anyone help?

I have the Merrell Ellenwood and I found it was neat sizing - I'm a 14 (but just had DS when I bought it, so mummy tummy meant I was wearing 16s for a bit). Mine is an XL. I would say I'm back at 14 and it fits fine now, wouldn't wear anything too thick underneath or it would bunch up - but then, I don't need to! Love my coat! Going by that therefore I'd say a 10 would be a medium, 12 a large... Hth

Thats really helpful thank you-at that price Im actually quite tempted to order both and see which one fits but think my DH might actually kill me!!

I think Im more of a medium than a large if that makes sense but the sizing seems really confusing!

I have a Merrell Haven in Medium. I'm also a size 10 top, 12 bottom, and this fits me perfectly. Room for a jumper underneath, but not too baggy! HTH

I can definitely see that especially with your height ihearttc, although I was somewhat miffed to find my taller-than-average-size-14ish-days-after-giving-birth frame labelled as XL!!! ;)

I'm a 10/12 and have a medium

I have the "haven 2" version in cinder, in a medium, I'm a 10/12 and it fits fine. However, it is so warm, I get too hot if I go out walking and wear a jumper underneath it. A long sleeved top is fine underneath, in my opinion! If I was buying again (and I would, its a great coat) I would get a Small for that reason.

I have the Haven its a few years old now though its an xs I am a size 6 and very petite and its fits perfect again now. Last winter it did not fit me as I had gone up to a size 10. The arms are perfect on me but some said a few years ago they needed to go up a size for the arm length.

Thats great thank you...all really helpful!!

Lol forgetmenots...Im my head Im still a size 8 and I get really confused when size 8 don't fit! Problem is with being my height every single little bit of weight goes to my middle area...need a bit of weight distribution I think!!

I think Im going to order both and just send back whichever one doesn't fit me-I have a feeling Im never going to find one at that price ever again so want to make sure its right.

The website is Outdoor Look if anyone else is interested...just please don't buy them all before I get a chance!

I would get the small. I'm hardly tall, and I'm a size 8-10 on top and 10-12 on the bottom and the small fits fine. In a fitted way. I couldn't wear a big chunky cardigan underneath as well, but I hadn't planned to. I think enormous coats on smaller women make us look ridiculous. So, if possible, size down. the smallest size you can comfortably zip up!

Its the zipping up Im worried about Mumbrage lol! Ive got tiny shoulders, smallish boobs but a mum tum after 2 children so its that bit that causes problems!!

Ive tried on so many coats these last few weeks but can't find one I like so this needs to be right! x

I think youd be ok in a small haven. it is more flared than the other styles.

ihearttc · 11/11/2013 18:36

Well Ive done it...ordered the small and will send it back and reorder the medium if its too small.

So fingers crossed its ok...I don't usually wear thick chunky jumpers anyway cause Im so short I tend to look like a Tellytubby in them so hopefully it will be ok.

Will let you know when it arrives if anyone is interested...was very impressed with the price cause Id been looking for ages and discounted it as was so expensive!

yes, that company seems to good to be true, their coats are about 55-60% of what the brands' own websites sell them for, but i used them a while back and coat arrived, genuine article, no probs! Bet the small will be fine on you. The Haven doesn't have a waist. I would be a bit nervous ordering the 'miette' though.

Thank you-its good to know that someone has used them before.

Can't wait for it to arrive. Ive got a Joules Dakota 3 in 1 thing at the moment from last year but cause the hood is inside the collar its a nightmare every time it rains so I just end up getting cold and wet...its not even that warm. I usually wear long sleeve t-shirts and thin jumpers indoors cause our house is really warm so needed a warm coat!

Thank you so much for all your help.

Oh fantastic! They are selling on Amazon and e-bay as well under the same seller name so assume they are all genuine although it is amazingly cheap and does seem almost too good to be true!

Just to say it arrived today and it doesn't fit so is going back...I feel like crying.

It fits perfectly across the top/shoulders but its too tight across my backside/hips. Ive come to the conclusion thats its actually me. Because I am so short everything seems to sit in the wrong place.

Very fast delivery and a bargain price so would highly recommend the company.

Im not sure about the larger size...I have a funny feeling it would be too big across the top and shoulders.

Im sure if I was taller the small would actually fit fine-it's almost like it just doesn't sit right on me! DH has just asked if they sell clothes to fit a Hobbit anyway and then I might find one to bloody fit me!!

Its just so frustrating cause its exactly what I wanted. Have just ordered a few from Next in the Petite bit (although non of them are particularly nice but Im so cold Im past caring now) so will see if any of them fit better.
