Recommend some good straighteners that are not as £££ as ghd?

My ghd's have just about had it after near on ten years of daily use barring a short while when the plates needed fixing back in them.

I've been in touch with ghd & unfortunately they can't repair straighteners that old Sad but have offered a replacement with a discount & some free goodies for £99

Are there any decent alternatives out there that are not so pricey?

I can't unfortunately ghds all the way, for the price you pay they do stand the test of time so are worth it IMO
I used to have a pair pre-ghds called futura I think and thru were pretty good although that was about ten years ago so I'm unsure whether they still make them

I had some Hair Tools ones that were really good. Remington Pearl are also good.

I've got some remington s3500s, a complete bargain at 20 pounds from argos or amazon. My friend, who does my hair, recommended them, and they work really well on my wavy frizzy hair. She also recommended a brand called 'she' which are about half the price of ghds.

hmmmm, I probably will just go for the ghd's then....I love mine & will be gutted when they finally die Sad

Will have a look at the others later first though, thanks.

(suppose I could ask for money for my birthday & use that for replacements...not a bad idea at all!)

I bought my daughter GHD's for her 13th birthday 3 weeks ago. Cost £135 with a matching hairbrush! I've tried them (in the name of research of course). Can honestly say there is no difference at all to how they straighten my hair or the appearance of my hair afterwards. And my hairdresser always complements me on the condition on my hair. I have Remington Pearls which I think were £40 of Amazon. My last Remingtons lasted years and have had my current ones more than a year.

Another vote here for Remington Pearl - I don't use mine daily though.
