got measured in john lewis yesterday
she said i was 32DD
the bra i tried on seems to fit ok, a bit of side fat
i bought a similar bra today... it doesn't fit.
I have bottom heavy boobs so the top is two great big gaping holes.

What do I do?

This is an emergency because I don't have a single bra that fits and I am back at work next week after mat. leave.

Measure your under bust in inches taut. Then dangle forwards and measure around bust loosely. Post your measures and we will help.

OK, first off - you HAVE TO try bras on. Nobody is only one size in bras.

Secondly, measuring tape out please and follow the fitting guidelines here thebetterbracampaign.blogspot.co.uk/p/fitting-advice.html and post up your measurements. It could be that John Lewis lady is miles off, which won't be helping

Thirdly, can you link to the bra you bought? It sounds like it could also be a style issue

Right, measure under your boobs to determine what back size you need. Pull the tape quite tight.

Next, lean forward 90 degrees so your boobs are pointing to the floor. Measure right round, putting the tape measure round your bag and round your dangling down boobs.

The difference between these two measurements tells you your cup size. So. Plus 1 inch = A cup, plus 2 inch = B etc

OK, moulded bras are kind of evil when it comes to fitting. Essentially the moulding means they can't adapt at all to your shape - so they either fit or they don't, and often that's not a size issue. Is it particularly a moulded bra you are after? They're often problematic for bottom heavy norks because they have a tendency to gape

For bottom heavy, the moulded/t shirt ones are harder. That's not to say there won't be one out there for you, but you will need to try lots to find it! Freya Deco (there is a hattie in a lovely pink), Cleo Maddie, Cleo Juna, curvy kate smoothie, wonderbra everyday tshirt are all potentials but it will be trial and error.

Bras which (off the top of my head!) are good for full on bottom
Bravissimo Alana
Bravissimo Dotty Spot
Freya - unpadded 3 part balconettes like the Lyla, Arabella etc
Some people like Ewa Michalak CHs and Curvy Kate Thrill Me

you should try 30E first (as well as a cup sizes around that size)

Some great advice in here already but will also suggest trying the Cleo Marcie and Melissa as they have worked well for a friend who is also bottom heavy.

I'm hoping that the band won't feel tight because the cup will be big enough?

Scooping is your friend when the band feels too tight.

Have a search for past bra intervention threads from about June I think.

I am also quite poor but have found M&s are crap, cheapo places like primark are all too narrow on the band so it cuts in, moulded bras are just wrong wrong wrong for me, supermarket ranges seem to have very wide cups.

I bought 2 bravissimo online in their sale and am converted to the 'up and at em' forward pointy shape. Made me look like my top half had lost a dress size, and made me look a younger shape in my clothes.

So I got 2 bravissimo in the sale, and 6 weeks later got a freya a bit reduced in debenhams. Yes even in the sale they are more expensive than any bra I would have considered before, but soooo worth it.
