Which epilator? Recommendations please!

I have a SilkEpil which is pre-Industrial Revolution - I swear it needs a team of oxen on a treadmill to power it. I am determined this winter to not be the one with mohair tights but I hate shaving (I need to do it very, very regularly).

So, you lovely S&B ladies, please can you recommend which epilator is nowadays The Thing? It needs to be robust enough to do a full ankle to hip and bikini line, tackling hair the texture of fuse wire.

I have a Braun Silk Epil, fairly new. Think it's version 7?

it has a little searchlight on it that I love! ha ha
