Using the same make up products for years and still being happy with them?

I seem to be forever on the hunt for new make up products that are somehow going to be perfect in every way. I have wasted a lot of money buying things and thinking 'wow' for a few days and then thinking actually I'm not sure this is for me.

I have a clinique foundation which is the right colour and texture for me and I think makes me look fine. I always come back to it, so why do I still spend time and money looking for alternatives that never quite work out?

I'm just interested to know if there are others who have used the same make up products, colours, etc for years and are happy to carry on doing so?

There is just so much choice now I feel as though I am on a lifelong search to find the perfect products that will make me look amazing, not knackered etc.

Maybe I just need to accept that what I have works for me and save myself the time and money involved!

I am pretty constant, apart from the fact that when I finish something the same product is no longer available so I am forced to change. I just stick to No 7 products anyway, as the choice is just too mind boggling.

Also, I think you do need a small range of things, as different times of the day/weather/occasions/moods suit different make-up. So having said that I am fairly constant I have a BB cream/tinted moisturiser for when I am looking well rested or just in that mood, but I have a proper foundation for winter and when I need heavier cover. Similarly, bronzing powder or blusher will come and go.

I have always, always used benefit high beam to give myself a glow. It lasts ages as you just use a few dabs, rub in, and it does give you a healthy glow. I also always use the little bourjous pots of blush, best blusher for me. I'm still yet to find a reliable mascara, I'm always trying to find the perfect one. Eyeliner I always stick with Bad gal by benefit to.

There are one or two things I stick with, Benefit Lemon Aid and Dr Feelgood, but otherwise different every time. I only wear foundation about twice a year and never use blusher, so I only buy lip and eye make up generally but I am always trying new things with those.

Clinique discontinued my favourite foundationSad
Rimmel black eyeliner. Clinique strawberry fudge eyeshadow duo. Clinique blush stick. I am a mascara tart though, always try new ones

The first high end purchase I made was a Clinique foundation, I have re-purchased said item ever since! In fact I've only ever bought 4 different types of foundation.

Nars blush and Eeste Lauder double wear mascara.

Everything else I always change

Clinique naturally glossy mascara, benefit hoola bronzer, bourjois blusher are the products that I stay loyal to.

I use a loose powder by CornSilk for setting foundation (just on t-zone). Have used it for years, nothing better.

Shu Uemura eyelash curlers and Tweezeeman tweezers - both best in class for me.

I pretty much stick with Max Factor Masterpiece mascara and No 7 for tinted moisturiser, cream eyeshadow, eyebrow pencil, nude lipstick and concealer. These do me unless its a particularly big night out (which happens far to rarely to warrant special make-up!)

Oh yes - Cornsilk powder is fantastic but you have to hunt it down in Boots. For some reason its nowhere near the rest of the make-up

Where do they usually put it?

I've been using Mac cream eyeshadow in blackground to line my eyes and have alternated between Max Factor 2000 calorie or False Lash Effect for at least 5 years now. Also been using Mac blusher in well dressed or pink swoon for years.

Am always on the hunt for a new miracle foundation though! Its hard to resist when they come out with new formulations and colours all the time (supposedly.)

I am devoted to Max Factor masterpiece mascara. Every now and then I am tempted to buy a different one, always to give up on it after a few uses and go back to masterpiece. I also have re-bought several colours of Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliners, they are fab.

Oh and I've been using Mac blot powder for years too and always buy Mac lipsticks, rarely look at any others. I've never been disappointed by anything I've bought from Mac! Never liked the look of their foundations though.

Kezztrel funny you should say that. I have rediscovered Mac and have lived in the face and body foundation all summer:)

Benetint
Lancome Definicils mascara
Revlon nail varnish
Soap and Glory foundation is serving me well at the moment and I've now bought it twice.

Always go back to no 7 foundation - the colour is perfect for me and despite spending up to 3 x as much nothing looks as good.

Flash beauty balm, Mac eyebrow pencil, bourjois blusher and tweezerman tweezers are all mainstays

Yes to Tweezerman but have never yet had to replace.

SELondon I've heard a lot of good things about Face and Body but whenever I try it in the shop it seems so watery and thin. Maybe I'll bite the bullet and give it a go.

Ask them for a sample;). Serioulsy try it! It takes abit of getting used to, it IS runny and watery (shake shake shake bottle) but the finish is so pretty. Abit like chanels aqua lumiere but without the pricetag.
It has got HG status for me now although have to admit will need something abit more coverage for winter.
