Would love some opinions on these outfits for the days after sister's overseas wedding please

My sister is getting married overseas (not somewhere very hot) very soon, and, because we have so many family members travelling for the wedding, there are a couple of events in the days afterwards for the family and friends who are still in the country (hosted by my family). So, the night after the wedding, sister and her DH to be have hired out a bar for dinner and drinks, will be lovely but fairly casual, so was thinking a black and white narrow stripped cropped top (for context, I am 28, a size 10 and fairly toned) with this skirt which will almost meet the crop top so only a cm of flesh on display.

For the Sat night (slightly more formal meal which my Father is hosting ), slim fitting black cigarette pants, a loose ivory silk cami, and this blazer. Both nights I will wear these.

What do you all think? Are both outfits dressy enough without being too OTT?

I think they're lovely - am guessing you're young?

And where did you get your silk cami form - have been looking for a non - polyester one for ages - thanks

Have you seem the skirt in real life? I would worry it looks a bit plasticky.

I don't think the skirt is OTT at all, it's gorgeous. They sound like two lovely outfits.

I love the pleather skirt! What a great shape.

I like the sound of the two outfits but the shoes are awful.

No to the shoes from me too, sorry.

Love the skirt and the blazer - stunning, you will look amazing

I would go for a simpler shoe - plain black and maybe slightly less high - a court or wedge will look simple and elegant with those outfits

The shoes are dreadful, sorry.

The blazer is good if you can pull off the colour, the skirt is a bit odd looking.

But ignore me, I am hardly a fashionista. It all looks a bit 'try hard', but if its your style and you can carry it off go for it.

Shoes are just about ok for the trouser combo but will be ghastly with the skirt.

You need a simpler shoe, not so high and embellished. Cheap on trend ones.... Try new look?

I think you really need a pretty special dress to carry the Lady Peeps. Kate Beckinsale manages to carry hers off in this fairly basic outfit here but I don't think many people can. When I see celebrities in fairly everyday clothes (ie not red carpet) but with CL spikes on their feet, I always think they're trying a bit too hard. Like, I'm determined to wear these shoes today, no matter whether they suit my outfit.

Nice plain black Pigalles would be the way to go Wink.

Good luck with your decision. Hope the parties are fun.

Sorry for not getting back until now, between work and helping my sister with organising stuff (and a last minute bridesmaid dresses panic) I've been crazy busy.

Thanks for all of the opinions, really appreciate them. So the general opinion is that the shoes are too much? Good to know, I've only worn them once with a simple black dress so wasn't sure. Was trying to avoid any last minute shopping but will get hunting for a simpler shoe. Slightly lower black courts maybe? They seem to be everywhere at the moment. Vonnegut, I would adore a pair of Pigalles, but the budget won't stretch to them at the moment (my Mum has a pair for the wedding day though, 100mm, nude. They are fab).

My sister has been asking for weeks what outfits I have planned for the Fri and Sat nights, so have been getting a bit stressed about it. Having seen the blazer and skirt on I think they look nice, so happy to go with the (semi) popular opinion on that. May just run it by the sister for final approval (she is a bit of a control freak Grin).

MrsCampbell, the cami is from J. Crew. Can't do links on phone but it's the 'Carrie Cami'.

Thanks again everyone for the input. I've been working nights so frequently lately that I've only had the opportunity to dress up for an evening out once since January, so was totally second guessing myself!

Hate the pleather skirt. Yuck, but love the shoes with the trouser combo, but not with a skirt.

Black cigarette pants ans silk cami sound lovely.

Ah, thanks so much nilby. Bags are packed, dresses finished, mum, sisters and I spent today having hair, waxing, eyebrows etc done. We fly out on Mon, so then all that's left is to witness my fabulous sister marry a truly amazing man (sniffle).

Thanks again for the input everyone. Outfits (with more modest black courts) have officially gotten the sister's seal of approval Grin.
