Shiny new thread - lovely
Dry at the moment I want to get off the mummy train every day. I've been listening to Radio1 in Ibiza. In the old days I'd have checked my bank account and hopped on a plane.......

I need to count up how many bits are in my wardrobe now. I do know that I wear 90% of it regularly which is a massive improvement for me!

Ah I may hang around for a thread if I can keep up!

Dip hem dresses. They're being slated on another thread, but this is perfect, I've had so many compliments in it and it's the perfect heavy stretch cotton, not too clingy and the dip does what they're probably all meant to do which is flatter your legs. It's a very subtle dip. I'm baffled it hasn't sold out at the sale price. The ssleeveless version I returned as its viscose and nightie-like, a disappointment.

Shop I am a SAHM and do love it, it's only the sense of being unappreciated at times that gets me down. Or the sheer mundane-ness of it even when I've had a busy and lovely day.

That's it Inmyshreddies I'm just having a week where life feels a bit mundane. When you've worked for large organisations for 20 years with regular feedback and then you're a mum with no feedback it's hard to get used to. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't change it, and I know I'm lucky - just sometimes I miss the lack of responsibility.
DH has said we can do a villa holiday next year with friends / family to Ibiza next year so that'll be fun.
Coat sounds good Marsha any ideas on shape yet?
I want a chunky knit with a big roll neck (not cowl) that I can sink my chin into. I also want to take another look at wearing black. As an Autumn I'm not supposed to but when she did my colours she said I didn't look too bad in it and I do miss it. Perhaps another thing to try when we meet Marsha and Foxy - you can give me some honest feedback?

Shreddies glad you're staying, and Shop, SAHM is good but I agree no appraisals or salary reviews!
shop every time I drive past an airport I have this fantasy of just swerving off the road, into departures with my credit card and just buying a random ticket and then escaping.....the most exciting bit would be arriving with no luggage and having to buy a whole holiday designer of course wardrobe on arrival in paradise.
Marsha I love you!!! Really....little old but chic me at David's school sports day, nah saw it in OK! If I'd been there I'd have been the stupid sod coming a not so close second!!!Grin

shop I can wear black but actually since seeing how flattering other colours can look I don't wear it much at all anymore.

shreddies I'm not normally a fan of the dip hem but that hush oneis lovely.

dry how's nancy?

foxy I've remembered I own another 2 jumpers Grin

It took me a long long time to adjust to being a SAHM. I do love it most of the time and do realise that I'm incredibly lucky to financially not have to work but goodness, most of the times it's dull. Some days when I'm emptying the dishwasher for the 1000th time that day I wonder what happened to the university education and the years of nursing. shop if I remember rightly your ds is 2? When they're babies it's easier to still have your own life as they'll happily be pushed around the shops, sit still whilst you meet friends etc but at this age everything is about them. Presumably he'll start preschool at some point which will give you more time to yourself again. Also do you normally do groups as all of those shut down over summer which means you lose that routine and seeing other people.

Yes QueenC 2.6. And has stopped nursery and classes for the holidays so we don't have so much on. Most of my mummy friends work. I don't want to wish this summer away but Sept feels a long way off!
DH off work now for two weeks so things should ease off a bit........
Thanks Foxy really looking forward to meeting you

lol Dry Grin

Shreddies lovely dress, glad you're staying.

Shop no idea yet. Will start looking on A/W recces, I don't even know what's in yet. But as much as I love the coat I have I just can't face all those months in the same thing. Liberty sent me an email today saying they missed me. Those words. Made me feel all emotional, and disloyal. That's an effective email then Grin. Yes of course re black.

QueenC I have more jumpers but fewer cardigans, but sounds about right.

Two things; I just went back through that post and made myself remove three exclamation marks.

And two, don't you hate it when finally you can read and write a vogue post and the dh hovers around the Mac and in close vicinity. Looking for things. Buzz!

The type of jumper I'm after
here
and here
chunky

Report
MarshaBrady · 02/08/2013 21:33

Yep I'm right in there, although admittedly very short-lived.

They invited some people to meet their Head of Marketing once as part of a customer feedback thing (and I got a voucher of course), except she was a no show in the end and the second in command stepped in. I said fix your website!

MarshaBrady · 02/08/2013 21:34

The emotional response that is.

Love those jumpers, especially the first two. Love that kind of knit.

In my wardrobe I have:
Jeans - c. 20
Shorts - 3
Chinos - 1
Smart trousers - 5
Smart dresses - c. 10
Summer dresses - c. 10
Skirts - c. 15
Shirts/silk tops/blouses - c. 15
Cardis - maybe 6
Jumpers - probably about 6
Sweatshirts - c.10
Long sleeved tees - maybe 10
Short sleeved tees - oh a million
Vests - c. 15

And don't even let's get started on shoes. I would say that those are immensely conservative estimates.

shopafrolic · 02/08/2013 21:36

That's really shit!!! If they say you're meeting HoM that's who you should get. I'd have started by telling them they couldn't even get that bit right! LOL!
I did find the TV programme they did about people pitching product to them very interesting. I also love the French woman who does their how to tie a scarf films on YouTube.
