Mac Plumful. It's a pinky red with a hint of plum, really good on pale, cool-toned skin - but reckon it would suit lots of people. It makes your lips look really plump and perfect, kind of like they've been airbrushed...

Similar texture to the Revlon Butter stuff, but with more pigment and not a melty pile of shite

MAC can do no wrong in my household...........I also use Paul&Joe lipstick which is great rubbed into lips as a stain as is the Guerlain Divinora range. The latter is pure luxury with it's little gold case, very heavy with rotating mirror on the cap top.

Agree re. Mac Mignonette - the only thing they do wrong is having their make up artists wear so much of the products at once! Apparently on Fridays and Saturdays they are told what look they have to do, e.g. bold eyes + pale lips, or ridiculous hair + scarily bright lips etc.

Sounds good enough to eat! I am loving the idea of the Guerlain one with the mirror! Ingenious! How much will one set me back? to go with the other gazillion lipsticks which all appear to be the same colour

Oooh that is nice. What is its staying power like Keztrel. I'm wondering if it would look ok with my yellowy, slightly sallow skin tone? I can really see it working on pale, cool tones.

My grandma used to have a tiny, oval, gold mirror that would clip onto any lipstick - it was really pretty. I forgot about that till now, may have to look for one!

soggy staying power is pretty good as long as you apply one coat, blot, then apply another. Lasts all morning on me, through coffee break until lunch. It's not the world's longest lasting, as it's moisturising and quite glossy. But it wears off nicely, doesn't leave a ring round your lips or end up looking patchy.

Don't know about how it would work on yellow-toned skin - maybe search the makeupalley reviews to see what people say.

They've changed the design a bit and now the mirror is sideways on but they still smell of parma violets- another reason to love Guerlain and they have a few here on Amazon.

Nearly as nice as calvin Klein first kiss it is like a perfect lip colour

It's a lovely colour, but MAC lipsticks dry my lips out like nothing else. And I don't like the vanilla smell/taste.

Guerlain Rouge Automatique are much better at not drying my lips out. The Rouge G are lovely, but so incredibly heavy and expensive.
I absolutely love the smell/taste of Guerlains products.

I got a Laura Mercier lipstick the other day - I've never tried anything from that brand, and to be fair, the lipstick is better than most other brands I've used (and I've used a lot!) And it doesn't taste or smell of anything at all, which is nice.

I love the taste of Mac lipsticks vibbe, it reminds me of mini eggs :) Clinique and Chantecaille dry my lips out, but never Mac. Think I need to check out Guerlain now!

Another winter here. Mac plumfull is my go to lipstick!! Just perfect for everyday wear when the HoC winter lipsticks feel OTT for everyday wear.

I may have to try it out then!

Ooh! I have Mac Plumful too. Fab shade. I'm a summer, sallow skin, fair hair, blue eyes, and I have the palest lips in the universe. Plumful, isn't overly colourful on me IYKWIM, I look alive with it! It has taken me years to find it. I wear it when I want to add a bit of gentle colour and energy.

Traditional nude lipsticks are too blah for me, too brown, too nothing, too worn out. I'm even more colourless with them. But after years, I found one in Rimmel call Vintage Pink, that's my perfect nude lipstick.

Oh I have Rimmel Vintage Pink too 3hens - I love it in the tube and on my hand, but on my lips it makes me look like a zombie! It's too violet and dead-looking on my face somehow - it must be better on Summers! I think I threw it away or I'd have sent it to you :)

Aw thanks Keztrel!
Funnyhow lipsticks look so different on different people. Like, Plumful isn't my nude, it's my 'add a bit of subtle colour', and it's a nude colour for the winters above.

I do like that Plumful shade - may give it a go.

HATE the Mac website though, it's like peering into a dark cave full of tiny words that are too small and pale to read.

YY 3hens it's a 'my lips but much better' shade on me :) Weird, seeing as I'm really pale, but there you go - I guess that's why the whole seasons thing works!

That's such a pretty looking colour. I have Burberry Pink Azalea which is similar to the photograph on those reviews, and it's stunning. It might be an option for those who don't like MAC lipstick.

I've had plumful for a couple of years - it IS a bit dark (purpley) for daytime for really pale skinned people like me, but fine at night. Syrup is softer for day.

I want to try Syrup cherry, it looks really nice. I don't find Plumful purpley and I'm v pale - it looks dark pink on me. Its weird how different lipsticks look on different people. I guess it makes lipstick threads a bit pointless!

I looked for this to buy yesterday, but would like to test it really so am going wait. I'm really pale with fair hair and blue eyes (but have no idea which season I am) and my usual lipstick is Bobbi Brown nude, and lately Revlon candy apple.
