Colour analysis people, can you help?

So I'm quite intrigued by this colour analysis thing but I'm just trying to figure out how it might work for me before spending the money. Is there anywhere I can go to see what the difference sessions look like? I went to the kettlewell website but can't seem to be able to find an overview of the seasons.

Also, anyone care to take a punt on which season I might be? I have dark hair, grey/blue eyes and pale skin. I know white suits me and brown looks awful.

Thanks in advance for any help!

You could try one of the online quizzes to see if you could work out out. http://www.prettyyourworld.com/free-quiz.html this one is quite good.
Our look on Pintrest for pictures of the palettes.
I found it money well spent which I think I've saved by not buying the wrong colours.

You sound like a winter, maybe?

Thank you I will check out that link. I am planning on having it done, just wanted to check it out first really.

Winter sounds like it might be right. I be surprised if I got warm colours.

Or possibly a cool summer...

I'm a cool summer. I have pale skin, light brown hair & green/brown eyes. You'd think I'd be a spring but spring colours look awful on me. I think it's because my skin has blue tones rather than yellow tones.

My friend has pale skin, blue eyes & mid-brown hair & is a warm summer.

My husband has pale skin, dark hair & green eyes & is a winter.

It sounds like you would definitely be on the Winter/Summer spectrum, but the only way to find out for sure is to get your colours done. It's quite fun to do. I got together with three friends & made a day of it. I think we used House of Colour - this was a few years ago now.

YES, no way am I going to be able to work this out myself!

Now, any recommendations for people to do it in London/herts/beds?

I had it done in Bedfordshire & it was with House of Colour - I've just checked the little booklet of swatches I was given.

It was about 15 years ago though so recommendations wouldn't really be relevant now. The only thing I'd say is make sure you allow plenty of time for your consultation. When my friends & I did it we felt the last one to be assessed was a bit rushed and didn't get the same amount of time as the others. We negotiated a group discount for the four of us, but looking back I think an individual session concentrating just on one person would have been better & more thorough.

No help from me, im afraid OP. Smile
I had a nosey on the internet earlier at this colour analysis because I was intrigued. Now Im totally confused! Confused
Iv got dyed red/auburn hair, blue eyes and pale skin with hint of red cheeks.
According to one website I was a cool winter and another (the HoC site) I was a cool spring. Hmm

I think you may be a summer as browns don't often suit summer. Do you look better in jewel brights like royal or cerise, and can you wear black? If you can you are a winter. If you look better in softer cool cool colours then you are a summer.

I am a sweet pea summer. I look best in pinks and turqoises which means I can never be chic and sophisticated in lack and neutrals Sad

I got a colour me beautiful book but I am still as confused. I think I am a soft but am struggling with whether warm or cool.

AFAIK, you are warm if your skin has yellow tones, & cool if it has blue tones. How you tell the difference I have no idea!

I think i can wear black. Could be wrong though! I never would wear pink though, so hope I'm not summer.

I'm a cool winter (white/fuschia/red/emerald/electric blue). That prettyyourworld link was helpful mumelie.

If you can wear black & would never wear pink, you probably are a winter.

It's almost impossible to self diagnose, the online quizzes are just too generic. As drama says above, you can look similar on the surface but be a totally different season

Having said all that I think the best website if you are trying to guess is the Truth is Beauty site, gives some good examples

Do invest in a proper draping, it's honestly worth every single penny

My skin is yellow, am very very olive ( jaundiced) looking, which would be a warm, but I am still a summer and look better in cool colours

orangeandemons · 13/06/2013 16:41

I thought winters could wear an icy yellow

From online things, I always thought I was some kind of summer but I'm actually a winter. Not a typical winter as I'm blonde. Do go and get it done-it's a fab experience.

I am a hoc jewel winter, but have fairly warm skin, ash blonde hair and blue grey eyes, not at all typical winter.colouring and I made them do it twice to be certain! complexion went properly tuberculoid with the autumn & spring drapes but really shone with the (to me) lurid bright winter ones. And tonight I wore black, white and red in favour of grey, aqua and silver- which was ok but nowt special. Get your colours done. It's the only way!

I agree that you should invest in getting your colours done. I had mine done last month. I suspected that I was some kind of autumn as brown haired and befreckled but it also showed me colours I looked fab in but would never have looked twice at before, like this link. I went with two friends and they had more tricky colouring and neither were what we predicted.
