What tricks do you know to really emphasise green eyes?

Ooh - I'm marking place because I have green eyes but have never given a thought to what might emphasise them!

Yes purple eyeshadow is brill for this.

Would second purple, i've got brown eyes with a hint of green but when i wear purple eyeshadow or liner they look really green.

To make em really pop you need to look at what is opposite to green on the colour wheel so rusty reddy shades work too. A few brands do auberginey coloured mascara.

My mum has pale green eyes and wears a lovely mauvey shade that looks fab on her.

YY to purple!

yy to auberginey/purple. I have a purple liquid eyeliner from Collection 2000 (so cheapo) which is great.

Try and get a scarf with a little bit in the pattern with the exact shade of your eye. Some people with green eyes have tiny golden shafts in their eye when in bright light and the pupil is tiny. Accent these too.

Also yy to purple shades above and below the lid. Make sure also to use a good dark circle concealer - if you have dark circles!! Otherwise, it's just purple purple all the way.

I also have a green centre in my eye, with golden bits too, so I wear a lovely Rimmel grape colour, and also a eyeliner in dark grape from Clinique, and a Clinique black mascara (picky about eyeliner and mascara, as eyes water with cheaper ones).

I had a little set of four purple eye shadows from Chanel for my wedding- just after the last ice age.
I think they were called "The Planets" they were lovely, a pinky, a light mauve, darker reddish mauve and dark purple.

Mine lasted years and years, and was well worth the money.

sounds like I work for them (I don't!) but again, benefit bad gal mascara in plum. BEST EVER for bringing out the green in your eyes.

agree to above re: gel eyeliners in purple. (get the right shade for your particular green tho).

personally I like green/gold eye shadow colours, they work for me anyway.

MAC Haux eyeshadow (purplish brown)

MAC Prunella eyeliner (plummy colour)

Someone on S&B recommended them to me (think it was HavingKittens) and they are amazing!

Purple is great for winter.
In the summer just tanned skin - can be fake tan, some bronzer.
Maybe some gold highlighter.
And Clinique Black Honey Almost Lipstick, funnily enough.

Also denim blue eyeshadow, as the thinnest possible line on the upper lashes.

Ok, jumping in with my green eyes and a question...

My green is a blue-green and how can I bring out the blue of them? Actually, I love my eyes which is great cause there's now't much else I like, at the moment (enters food intake versus exercise for today, into MyFitnessPal, realising I've overdone the calories already and it's only 3pm)

I wear lots of green clothes - from olive green to bright green.

(green eyes, slightly olive skin)

Mauve/lilac eyeshadows, as someone already said.

Gold (or bronze/copper) eyeshadow shades can also be good, or browns with or without a little gold.

As for clothes, although you'll often hear that you should be wearing complementary colours, I find green clothes can also really bring out green eyes, especially if you can find the right shade for you. DD has the sort of eyes that look different colours in different lights (grey-green mainly), but they never look so green as when she has her green cardi on.

I wear lots of green too, but for eyeshadow use a pale pink which brings out the green for daytime, and purple for night time.

Have you been colour analysed? Wearing the best colours for your season will bring out your colouring and emphasise your eyes.

I have hazel eyes green/brown but I really cannot imagine wearing purple eyeliner or mascara as I like the natural look! I find dark greys and dark brown eyeshadow look the best. I alternate between a sparkly moss hard candy eyeliner and a brown one. I like to stick to black mascara as thats what colour they are naturally.

It depends on the shade of your eyes. I've got olive green eyes and purple looks quite wrong. Dark silver/gunmetal is better, and some dark browns.

This Bourjois colour www.makeupalley.com/product/showreview.asp/itemid=100040 is incredible; it looks a bit much in the pot, but goes on a really nice smoky teal shade.

My eyes are a green/brown. I'd heard about the purple eyeshadow thing as well but when I tried it I just looked like I had a black eye. Confused

I used to be able to wear purple / plum shadows and liner when my hair was darker red.

It's lighter red/blonde now and I find bronze/brown/gold works better.

Clothes / scarves in the right shade of green are amazing though.

Purple or mauve makes me look bruised. My eyes are more aqua than full on green though. I stick to sand, coral and a rich chocolate brown.
