Fitflops or Birkenstocks?

I'm going to California this summer and I want some sandals that will be really comfortable, can be worn with most things but don't look too frumpy.

Was looking at these

and

these

Any thoughts on which is better? Thanks

Prefer the birkenstocks-really don't like the FitFlops and very £££.

I have ff's and b's - the b's don't really get a look in now as the ff's are sooo comfy Smile

I like Birkenstocks, but they never cost £200 plus, so don't think you're getting a bargain!

The birkies are only £40 though. Not £200. That's a ridiculous price and I can't imagine it's real!

The FFs are quite pricey. Hmmmm ...
Don't Birkenstocks take a while to get used to?

Ah sorry yes just re-read your post properly greyvix. You were saying same as i just did. Yes, agree the £200 is a lie. How do they get away with that?!

Annoyingly my PC's not letting me click on the Fitflops so don't know which style it is, though I do know the range - have several pairs.

The Birkenstocks are pretty but I found them very hard underfoot when I tried a pair - specially compared to Fitflops which are indeed very comfortable and great for walking.

Birkenstocks. They need to be broken in but then they are sooooo comfy.

Have had a look now and those Via Bar are the ones I had last year in Rome where they were very comfortable despite lots of walking on really hard pavements . Think I'd be tempted to buy them both and use Birkies when less walking!

Ff look shit but are like walking on cotton wool

Birks look shit and are like walking on cork tiles - dry ye heels out and gave me a corn.

I'll be getting new ff for my californian trip this summer...

I don't like the first link. I like birks not that style though. I wore Bs throughout my trips to California and did a lot of walking, feet were fine ankles hurt a little though.

I love b and ff. I prefer the toe post styles though. I find both v comfy but prefer the b to look at so I will vote for those.
