I got talked into buying this today.

It's a bit pricey...eek! I don't know whether I should return it!

Has anybody tried this and what did/do you think?

This lady seems to like it...hmm might give it a try.

I'll test it for you guys in the name of beauty.

It's really expensive for a product made of cheapo mineral oil.

Yes, it is expensive. I don't mind if it does what it claims to do, though! I went to buy the Beauty Flash Balm, as that is a favourite of mine, but the assistant said that this serum is much better and explained the anti-aging effect and that the luminousity you get stays with you all the time, even when you wash your face, unlike the BFB.

She said it's overtaken Beauty Flash Balm as their no. 1 selling product and she'd give me a 30ml Beauty Flash Balm if I bought the serum. I went to another store with a Clarins department and explained I had bought the serum elsewhere and was having cold feet. She said that if she had to choose between the BFB and the serum she would definitely go for the serum. I was definitely surprised, because I love BFB, and a friend of mine I let try a bit before a night out was wowed by it too.

Anyway, I used the serum for the first time last night (you use it once a day and that can be morning or night) and I'm already failing as a beauty product reviewer! Today my skin looks really glowy and radiant, but I put BFB on under my makeup this morning so I don't know which product to attribute that to...doh! Probably the BFB, as Clarins say you will see results in 7 days with the serum.

Will update again tomorrow without contaminating the results by using BFB as well!

Today the lady threading my eyebrows asked me what foundation I used. She said: "It's very good...makes you look very glowy. Did you use anything underneath it?"

I've never had anybody ask me what foundation I use, and usually this threading lady doesn't make conversation with me.

I need to confess that although I have been using the double serum once a day, I have not bothered to cleanse my face before going to bed a couple of times this week. The threading lady's compliment has helped snap me back into it, as my skin is looking good and it's stupid not to do it properly.

So, are you using both the Serum and the BFB? Which cleanser?

I have just ordered the BFB and the Clarins all in one cleanser. Thought about the Serum, but the price is prohibitive...but will be interest to hear of your results.

BFB has had a lot of great reviews, and one of my MNer mates (great beauty she is Grin) told me her secret...Smile

I wanted it badly, but the mineral oil is bothering me, so I won't.

I didn't use the BFB today.

I've not used it much lately because my skin is looking as though I've used it. I can see why the assistants were raving about this thing. I think I will only use BFB when I'm going out and want to knock 'em dead! ;0)

Sorry, I use the Clinique 3 step products, but the anti-blemish range as I broke out something terrible a couple of years ago and that was the only thing that got rid of the spots.

What do you mean about the mineral oil, coffee?

OP posts:

coffeeinbed · 06/05/2013 21:52

it's been reformulated.
They now use cheap mineral oil instead of the plant ones they used to.
Some people don't mid it - Bio Oil is basically mineral oil, I'm not comfortable putting it on my face.
I realise I probably am using it in other products without realising, though and that I might be a bit precious. Blush

Hmm. That's not good...are you saying putting Bio Oil on my face every night could have the same effect?!

And to think I used to think Bio Oil was expensive...now I'm contemplating it as a cheaper option Hmm

well, not quite.
I'm sure Clarins Serum has lots of active ingredients, which are very different to Bio Oil.
It's just the carrier - mineral oil that's the same.

So why has it put you off? it seems to work. Unless I'm just going through a pretty phase! Wink

Bought my second bottle last week as I can't live without this stuff now. Make me look luminous. Thoroughly recommend, and yes, it is better than the hallowed Clarins Beauty Flash Balm!

Hiya, I am tempted by this serum.

Coffeeinbed, is mineral oil a bad thing?

Thanks.

I tested this last week, only wore it the one day though. The cost is also what puts me off, will keep watching this thread

peas I've bought a second bottle because I'm getting to the bottom of the jar and I definitely don't want to run out. So, its lasted over two months now.

Will let you guys know when it runs out.

When we say ££££s, how many exactly are we talking?
