Nursing bra help please!

My DS is 8 months and we're going on holiday soon so I've been trying to do some shopping for holiday stuff. Although I've lost all the baby weight, and then some, everything I've tried on has looked horrendous.

I've come to the conclusion that its the god awful nursing bra to blame so was hoping that someone on here would be able to point towards some more supportive nursing bras and somewhere decent to get measured! I've convinced myself that this will solve the problem. hopeful face

I'm in Sheffield but willing to travel for this, within reason.

Thank you for any help/tips.

Some nursing bras have a wire in them, called flexiwire, which offers more support without damaging your breasts (if well fitted). I know Hot Milk do them. I also like Amoralia for nursing bras, and my panache Sophie's (can you tell I have a few!)

By far the worst ones for me have been mothercare and M&S.

I went to Bravissimo to be measured, they are wonderful. I bought the panache there, the hot milk on figleaves and from a local seller and the Amoralia online.

Your local NCT should have someone trained to measure for nursing bras, they come to your house I think. I wouldn't go to M&S or similar as they still measure the old fashioned way adding inches so you end up with a larger back size than you need. You need a good fit there for support. Perhaps try measuring yourself?

I live in Kent and there is a woman who runs her own company here who measures you and sells nursing bras, perhaps there is something similar near you?

Good luck Smile

That's really helpful thank you! I think the nearest bravissimo is in Manchester so that might be worth a visit one weekend. Ill have a look for the ones you recommended and may order some in a few sizes. I've already been stalking the bra interventions thread so might have a go at measuring myself. I'm not sure about when to do it though, as they obviously change size through the day dependent on feeds!

I got my nursing bras [and get my normal ones for my unruly norks] from T-J the Bralady bralady.co.uk/contact/ I know they have a team of local fitters and even advise over the phone and via Skype.

The main site for nursing bras is here www.bras4mums.co.uk/ - they really know their stuff - my boobs have never been as well supported!
