Really disappointed with new eyeliner

I bought a new eyeliner today from superdrug.

It's a rimmel liquid one.

I've never had liquid eyeliner before, but this is terrible. All gloopy and the brush is so pathetic it's not strong enough to actually use on my bottom line.

Do you think superdrug will let me return it or will I have to bin it?

I would go back and explain, the product may not be faulty, but it obviously doesn't work for you. You may get a credit voucher, but unless you ask, you won't know. Good luck!

I wouldn't normally condemn lying but if you said that you had a reaction it is they duty to return it to rimmel and therefor offer you a refund.

If you want the look of a liquid but don't get on with the applicator try the liquid felt tip style product.

H&m do a fab one, I think it's only about £3, works wonderfully...and this is coming from somebody who is a complete beauty junkie and a trained makeup artist.

Hi, I've had problems returning things to Superdrug before ( a sealed make up compact was in bits when I opened it - no way I could have checked it in the store) and the assistant point blank refused to refund me. Unfortunately it was the last one so I couldn't get a replacement.

Boots (on the other hand) will return/exchange almost anything, so you could always try them.

Not a liquid eyeliner but I can thoroughly recommend the Maybelline gel eyeliner.

You should go and ask in case they deem it faulty, but I used to work at Superdrug and we were told we couldn't give refunds or exchanges on cosmetics unless faulty. We were also told with allergic reactions that the person had to contact the manufacturer rather than us. I don't know if this is still the case though, it's about five years since I worked there.

Which rimmel one is it? Glam eyes is bloody awful. It's exaggerate which is the amazing one.

You will probably not be able to take it back, but you should be able to rescue it by dipping a better brush into the pot.

It is glam eyes.

I should have stuck with the felt tip ones I've had before. I much prefer them.

I was only £5 so don't think I will bother trying to take it back. I'm sure maybe a friend might want to give it a go and maybe get on better with it than I did.

I must say. At the same time I bought the rimmel lipstick fixer and it works! I buy cheap lippies from revlon and they only stay on until I eat, but this stuff meant it latesd most of the night last night

Could you contact Rimmel customer services directly? They may offer you a refund or voucher if you are unhappy with their products.

Never tried this myself but it is just a thought.

I say send rimmel a nice email saying you've bought one and cannot return it, but you are unhappy with it and would be very grateful if they sent you a voucher so you could replace it with another since you would love to stay with their brand.

The worst they can do it tell you to eff off, and then you'll know you were definitely right not to buy any of their eyeliners.

I'd always complain to the manufacturer rather than the shop. They seem to give better refunds as they genuinely care about the feedback on their product. Usually a free phone number to call on website or pack.
