Shoes for Euro Disney, what should I buy?

we are going to euro Disney over Easter and I need comfy shoes! I was planning on just taking converse but the forecast is for rain so I need something else, any ideas? I'm thinking boots but not fugly walking boots!

Comfort is key! I'd go with flat leather boots, and don't forget a small cross body bag.

Flat leather boots are the plan, but I can't find any. I went looking today and ended up with 2 pairs of sandals!

Fugly walking boots cost £££ and will never be worn again! I don't mind spending a bit but i would want to wear them again, hiking boots don't fit in to my normal life!

Doc Martens? Would need to be the softer leather sort as you won't have time to break them in but they are comfortable, cosy, waterproof, long lasting and good for walking around a lot. Also never go out of fashion and there are a variety of styles.

I wear converse all the time but wouldn't wear them to euro disney as I wouldn't find them comfy for the whole day. Also the leather ones do often need wearing in. We're going in October and I'll probably be in my merrell trainers.

Do you not have any trainers?

I just bought some cheap walking/hiking type shoes from Tk max for £25 - for exactly the same purpose! They're really comfortable and will be showerproof.

Was going to suggest leather converse too. Give them a good spray with leather protector for added waterproofness.

a couple of pairs of ordinary trainers were fine for us - we got ASDA cheapos and wore one pair, whilst other was drying out - then chucked them before we came home as they were stinky - wasteful I know, but they really got wet - wouldn't want to waste good money on something I would want to get rid of....

Two pairs of Davinas fit shoes from Next got me round EuroDisney lat year 14 hours on my feet and they were fine look quite stylish and not orthopaedic. Careful of the sizing though is erratic I own pairs in a 5, 6 and a 7 !! and couldn't get any of the slip on ballerinas to fit.

Thanks for all the ideas! I have leather converse, for some reason thery are not as comfortable as the canvas ones, I think I might get trainers, I haven't worn a pair of trainers in years ( converse don't count) I was looking at the Nike blazers, I used to wear them in my youth so I know they are comfortable, just worried I'll look like an old woman wearing young persons feet! www.office.co.uk/mens/nike/blazer_mid_vintage_leathe/21/11644/32527/1/1?fs=11644 so is 38 too old for them?

They look fab Nancy. I'd wear them (am 37!) and you might as well buy something you'd want to wear again. I'm on my feet all day with my job so pretty much only have comfortable (but stylish) shoes - trainers with a bit of arch support are great, better than converse which are a bit too flat to be comfortable all day, especially in this sodding weather! I'm hoping it'll be a bit warmer in Paris by the time we get out there...

DO NOT BUY NEW SHOES!!!!

Sorry to shout, but I think it's one of the top pieces of advice re Disney trips. You will be doing a huge amount of walking, and blisters/sore patches will ruin your trip. You want to wear your comfiest pair of shoes. It doesn't matter what you look like. If you're in an unbroken in pair of shoes every step will show on your face and that's what people will see.

The same goes for your dcs. Make sure they are in well worn in shoes.

Handy hint #2: Chuck a pair of light ballet pumps/flip flops or similar into the button of your bag. If you end up going straight from the park out for dinner it's a relief to take off your comfy walking shoes and give your feet a rest.

Handy hint#3: Take a good waterproof coat. The number of people we saw in those plastic capes looking utterly miserable in the rain was incredible.

We went last Easter and the weather was gorgeous, much warmer and dryer than we expected with one shower of rain in the week so check the forecast before you go. I had Converse (bought new ones at an outlet there too) and Clarks sandals. Have a great time.
