M and S jeggings question

PirateShit · 21/02/2013 18:59

I have the 5 pocket jeggings from M and S in indigo, and I am really impressed with them. They don't go baggy on the knee and bum like some other skinny jeans I've tried. I want some new black skinnies, and I went in m and s today to get the black version of the ones I have. However, they seemed different in the black, the denim was thinner, iykwim. Has anyone got the black jeggings, and if so do they keep their shape as well as the indigo ones?

I have both and the black ones feel different. They fit the same, haven't gone baggy but have faded really badly.

Hmmm, the fact that they haven't gone baggy is a plus, but no one wants faded black jeans. Cheers for the info drywhite.

Yes I have black ones (think they are the five pocket ones, they are definitely quite a thin fabric). Not gone baggy and fit well. I would say they have faded a bit, not dreadful but I have definitely noticed some fading. However they are better than my indigo ones which I HAtE as the colour comes off on my hands and other clothes

I have both colours too and definitely prefer the indigo ones. The black ones are thinner and I don't think they fit as well as the indigo ones either. Haven't worn them enough yet to know if the colour fades.

I bought the indigo ones last September and they are lovely, just like skinny jeans. So recently I bought the green ones and there's no way they are the same trousers. They are tight, clingy and deeply unflattering. No idea why they are so different but they're both labelled as five pocket jeggings.

Ok, thanks don't think I'm going to get them then. Can anyone recommend some black skinnies for me then? The key thing is the don't go baggy as I HATE that. Also like jeans to be relatively high waisted. Not too expensive, anything under about 50 quid is ok. Thanks.

I have the Navy and Indigo and definitely thinner. I love the navy ones though and they haven't bagged or faded but I do wash them inside out

Yes I must say neither of mine have gone baggy around the knees, they just fit completely differently.

I really like the fit of my black ones but they have faded horribly, sadly. Having said that, I've probably worn them at least once a week for nearly a year so they've had a lot of washes!

Do Topshop black ones wear any better, does anybody know?

Oasis do good high-waisted jeans too but they are far too long for me, even in their Short versions!

I have some from Wallis which are quite high waisted, have faded a wee bit in the pockets but not on the knees (yet). Seem to keep their shape well too.

Thanks Jump. I'll check out Leighs tomorrow on my lunch break if I get time.

I just thought I'd update on my black skinnies quest. I tried a few different pairs on, and then I tried the lift and shape black skinnies in Next. They are good, I had to size down (never a bad thing!), and I'm quite pleased with them. The only bad thing is they are not as tight round the ankle as I would like, but they stay Indy, don't bag and are high waisted enough for me. A solid 8/10!

Stay Indy?? Wtf. Stay tight.

Thanks for the update OP. What's the length like on the Next ones? I am a 35 inside leg and struggle.

I have both indigo and black and like both (not gone baggy), but the black have faded a lot. I tried grey on at the weekend though and they came up absolutely enormous - like I probably would have needed an 8 and I am a 12!

I too bought the black on the strength of the indigo ones.
Black felt hard faded quickly and fit was different.
Binned them yesterday.

I got some black skinnies, quite high waisted in DPs.

nightsky the length is good, I don't know what leg I am in inches, but I'm 5 foot 8 and the regular length is fine. Long enough to wear with heels.

remus I sized down too with both the indigo skinnies from marks and the black skinnies from next. I'd like to think that I am actually that size but the rest of my clothes tell me otherwise! Still, you can't beat a bit of vanity sizing for the old self esteem!!!

Navy ones wash ok, but are thinner than the indigo ones.

Best are black cord ones, they are not as stretchy and don't need a belt.

I have both the indigo and the black. Both are fine-I wear the black for work with boots. Neither have gone baggy around the knees and actually I think the black ones keep their shape better-they fit very well around the leg.
