Boots Botanics All Bright Cleansing Lotion taken off with warm wet facecloth £3.49 for 250ml
Aldi Lacura Naturals Day Cream and Night Cream £3.99 each

I'm never buying expensive stuff again - these products rock. I actually can't believe how much better my skin is!

It's great when cheap products work for you better than expensive ones - I think I'll tr the Aldi moisturiser, thanks for the recommendation!

I've had a similar result over the past couple of months too - I started using cold-pressed virgin coconut oil (removed with hot water and muslin cloth) to take off make-up and wash my face, followed by E45 cream at night, and a Sudocrem facial once per week. My skin looks better than it ever has, it no longer itches like crazy (which it used to do all the time), and I now only need to use my expensive Avene moisturiser as a base for my make-up. All changes recommended by MN, so thank you guys!

ooh I think I'll try these. what's a sudocrem facial though?

Sudocrem facial = having a bath, getting your skin super-clean and then sleeping with a layer of sudocrem on your face (having first taken care to cover your pillow with a towel, as it can stain). I find that it makes my skin look much healthier, and helps any dry patches, spots or marks to clear up much faster than they would do otherwise.

My skin is very sensitive and I usually get break-outs if I use anything other than coconut oil, E45 or Avene so I was worried that the Sudocrem would be a Very Bad Idea, but it turned out to be great for me!

The aldi moisturiser has hyaluronic acid in it - think that is also in the expensive stuff like Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair. Love that it's aldi's 'premium' range...

Really interested in sudocreme facial - great tip!

I use Johnson's baby soothing naturals intense moisture for my face these days and its great. It's about £2.30.

I do use a dermalogica cleanser though as its the only one I've found that doesn't bring me out in spots. But I buy big bottles that last a while so it doesn't work out too bad.

I've been using the same as OP and my skin is much better now... Boots Botanics All Bright make up remover, then the facial wash, followed by Aldi Naturals Night Cream and their Lacura serum for mature skin as day cream (the one in the pump bottle).

I discovered Sudocrem last summer when I came over all patchy with red dry bits. I don't do regular facials, just slap some on overnight as the first hint of dryness.

Ooh might try Sudocrem facial. Can I use the one I use for DS's bum? No I'll get my own one I suppose...

I just received my first batch of organic virgin coconut oil today - huge pot for a tenner. So far I have used it to remove make up and soothe DS1's eczema. We are both impressed Smile

Glad it works for you too, ujjayi!

RE Sudocrem facial - I put a thin layer all over face (but don't massage in very much), then thicker blobs on any areas that need extra help (don't rub in). As I mentioned before, a towel you don't like very much is essential if you like your pillowslips to remain their intended colour :).

The Aldi stuff isn't spf15... But was thinking of using a separat CityBlock style thing once spring comes

Sudocream facial, hmmm?
Let's see just how much he does love me..I might wake up to a new facebook profile in the morrow tho....
Thanks for the tip,I shall report in the morning.

Right, it feels quite dry, but is also dried my funny 'looks like I am going back to teenage years' spots as well. My pores look less visible.
I didn't put loads on, at a wound care conference a few years back the rep for sudocream made the point that if you can still see the white you've put too much.
Husband didn't look too horrified, said I look like a geisha lol. Yeah right.
So I shall repeat this next week hoping my face won't fall off.

How long before the Sudocrem smell wears off the next day?

And where do you get the coconut oil?

Report
MechanicalTheatre · 21/02/2013 22:30

Well did the sudocrem facial yesterday. I think my pores do look a bit smaller actually.

How much did you use Mechanical? Did your face still smell in the morning?
