Blusher advice

I bought a no.7 cream blusher last week and although it looked nice it seemed to have disappeared within about an hour of wearing it. I don't want to put too much on for fear of looking like Aunt Sally but don't want to have to keep applying it all day either. Am I doing something wrong and where's the best place to apply it on the cheeks?

Any other recommendations for cream or powder blusher would be great. My skin is kind of olivey but pastey with no make up and dark circles so I really need some colour to lift me a bit. I've heard good things about benefit dandelion but it would be an expensive mistake if not right for me. Thanks

Do you use powder? Cream blush is like a cream foundation, you need to 'set' it with powder. It's best if you can use a cream blush over foundation, then powder over the top, then touch up with a powder blush in the same shade - then it will really last.

I'm not personally a fan of Dandelion - it's a very fair pink shade and it doesn't show on my (fair) skin at all. You can try it if you visit a Benefit counter though - they are hard sell on there, but they'll apply it for you to see if you like it.

NARS powder blusher and Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge are the bee's knees.

I'll have what you're having- and Nars too :)

Seriously- Nars blushers are lovely but there's more to blusher than Orgasm.

It's actually quite bright- for me anyway. Deep Throat is slightly paler, and other shades such as Sex Appeal are paler still.
