Mint on Oldham road is very interesting, all sorts of stuff. Across the road and further down to affleck's main entrance.

Excellent ideas, thank you! Like the idea of browsing round the Northern Quarter - anyone know of any specific shops in that area? (off to google...)

Some great shops in the Northern Quarter too.

It's not in McRae but try vivaladiva.co.uk

I would try House of Fraser to see if there are any end of sale bargains, bag heaven smile

Debenhams had sale on last week. There were lots of lovely bags with 30% off.

Afflecks, and there are several other vintage shops around there which have some amazing stuff. Have just been round there today.

Thanks, will check those out. Had forgotten about TKMaxx

Any other suggestions anyone?

Marks and Spencer have one for nine quid over your budget
i think its inspired by the mulberry Anthony bag

TK Maxx can be excellent for bags. It depends on the day but my local one has a fab bag selection.

Anyone know where I can get a good inexpensive cross body bag in Manchester? Budget up to £50.

I know Topshop etc etc, was wondering if anyone had any ideas of particular shops that would be good.

Thanks
