Budget style and beauty tips

I apologise if this has been done to death (my search facility isn't working) but I thought it might be nice to start a S&B thread for those on a strict budget. Hints, tips and tip offs? I went through a very bad money phase a couple of years ago, and now I'm getting back on my feet I'm enjoying budget beauty!

Mine are -

1. No need to buy special contour powder. If you wish to contour your face you can just buy normal face powder a shade darker than you normally would. MUA do them for £1
   

1. No need to buy cleansing wipes. Asda smart price baby wipes are fine and cost pennies.
   

1. Mumsnet haircut. A lifesaver for me!
   

1. MUA and Miss Sporty make up are great. Eyeshadows (MUA) Mascara (Miss Sporty) and blusher (MUA) in particular.

Baby oil for eye makeup remover.

Aldi wrinkle stop in the plastic syringe. Brilliant stuff, my eyes look better everyday. All the aldi make up and skin creams really.

Rosé hip oil at night as hand cream. Your hands will look so much better.

A thick layer of Vaseline rubbed into your feet at night. Top with a pair of socks, leave overnight and your feet will be soft and smooth in the morning.

Just take care not to slip in the shower.

What is special contour powder???? Is it to give you a Boy George-style shadow under your face to try and hide your double chin??? Do people actually use this?

Revlon lip butter and Barry M nail polish, both excellent and cheap as chips

cocobongo This is contour powder. Yes it's meant to give the illusion of shadows for people like me who have a round face. Although the look I'm going for is more this than Boy George

Superdrug Vitamin E hot cloth cleanser is fantastic- cheap, smells lovely and makes skin all glowey. Comparable to (and better than alot of) high end hot cloth cleansers. I stopped using it for a week, to try out a much more expensive one, and my skin suffered.
Superdrug Vitamin E oil- lovely at night. Makes skin soft in morning. Again, cheap and better than some higher end ones which can make me break out.

My skin type is combination, and pretty dehydrated at this time of year. The above items sorts it all out.

My top tip: use EVERYTHING up before you buy anything new that does the same thing. I am doing this at the moment and haven't bought any beauty products since before Christmas. Between impulse buys, special offer stockpiling and general fickleness, I have accumulated so many half-used and unopened beauty products that I don't think I will have to buy anything except body lotion for the next few years months. And most of the stuff is actually quite nice!

Also, do your own beauty treatments - hands, feet, tan, eyelash tinting, hair removal etc. I haven't been inside a salon in ages.

Just have a look at what you've got, and actually use it.

I have a ton of potions that I'm sure will make me look amazing if I actually used them. They don't work still in the tube.

Nivea blue tub is best moisturiser by far!

Mua good buys for me so far has been lip tint and lippy, liquid eyeliner and palletes!

oil cleansing method

2true lip gloss from Superdrug, best I've ever used, totally non drying, 1.99 each or 3 for a fiver

olive oil mixed with Brown sugar, black pepper and honey - fab scrub for dry skin

MUA eyeliner- used it yesterday and slept in it but it was still lining my eyes. For £1 it is amazing!
