Seems there's a handbag frenzy on Mumsnet just now [smille]. I need a new one. Want something I can wear on my shoulder, structured rather than squishy (I have a large slouchy bag) and preferably with a divider/two sections inside. What does anyone think of these - in no particular order?

Russell & Bromley in tan

this caught my eye but it will probably date and not sure it's really me

Modalu Millie in toffee

Pippa small grab in toffee

These two don't meet my criteria at all but a little bag would be nice for child-free trips!

Radley tan

Radley navy

Alternatively, suggestions always welcome Smile

Second R&B far and away the best.

Do you think it will be a one season bag Amber - it does look lovely but I fear I'm not young and trendy enough for it!

The second one, it's a lovely colour.

I like the Millie. And the bowling bag but that looks rather less practical but I'm boring

I like the bowling bag

Aaargh, too many votes for the bowling bag!!! I want a bag to last me a few years at that price and would worry that one will look dated this time next year! Does anyone like the other R&B bag or is it dowdy? I really like the inside of the Pippa but not so sure about the exterior. I have a big slouchy bag just now and it's like a bloomin' dustbin hence my desire for something more structured in which I can organise my stuff.

Bowling bag please.

The first r&b is a bit boring, sorry.

I think the R&B bowling bag is very classic actually, it certainly won't look dated next year. It has a very vintage vibe and the colour is stunning. The Pippa is more likely to date quickly, there's already a 'copy' of it on the high street, and the gold metalwork looks quite cheap too.

I wish we had proper shops nearby so I could use go in and look instead of Internet shopping!

Okay, so I'm being boring about the bowling bag. If it does a few years, maybe.

On the staid and boring front, this LKB is a bit over budget but .....

Off to bed now to dream off handbags.

Whoever said the Modalu bags could look dated/cheap, yes that's my worry too.

Bowling bag will most definitely not look dated, Prada bring them out year after year. Definite no to Modalu, they are not well made and are very of the moment. The first R&B and the LKB are very dull.

Bowling bag.

Thanks all! Bowling bag very popular but I keep looking at it and it's just not me - although it did catch my eye.

I'm considering the LKB bag even if it is a bit dull but will keep searching - really would prefer something with two compartments so I can keep some of DS' necessary bits separate from mine.

I also like the blue bowling bag with the LKB as a second choice.

This is bigger than the ones you have linked, but I have it and it has the divided sections you are looking for and is nicely structured. I have it in tan but the yellow has been in a few of the fashion mags.

Are the handles long enough to sit on your shoulder Euro? It looks quite nice.

Definitely the bowling bag. Dont think it will date at all.

the first R&B bag looks like something my 80 year old gran would have

Yes, they are, which is completely necessary for me as I am often carry laptop, parcels, etc. It was a present and I am totally happy with it.

Some lovely bags in the sale here. Not too different to the ones you like but a lot better price- you could treat yourself to 2 if you like them and you have the budget ;)
