Need an outfit for work party!

I have a 2 yo so don't get much time to shop, or go out really!

Got a work Xmas do in a couple of weeks. Dress code is smart/casual (I guess that means no jeans :( )

I am a size 12-14 with chunky legs (and arms...), so although I don't mind a knee length dress prefer long, or maybe trousers.

Any of you good shoppers suggest anything / anywhere? Don't want to spend a fortune if poss...
