Am eagerly waiting Essie's Leading Lady to arrive in store but any other recommendations - ideally want burgundy and super glittery

Starfishkiss Sun 11-Nov-12 21:09:02

Ooh I love a glittery nail varnish - my favourite are the revlon glitters by far. They do a beautiful pale pink glitter and so I put that over the top of a nice burgundy (I like maxfactor ruby fruits for instance) and always get complimented on it! smile

MrsCampbellBlack Sun 11-Nov-12 21:10:28

Revlon - right will investigate - thank you!

CointreauVersial Sun 11-Nov-12 21:33:57

Superdrug have a 3 for 2 on cosmetics, and all manner of glittery stuff on offer. Barry M, MUA and Revlon had some lovely nail varnishes.

This is amazing Removing it is another matter though!

Charliefox Sun 11-Nov-12 21:45:03

Should have said, just paint your normal colour on, then apply this over the top. Turns any nail varnish into glitter heaven!

I have a models own glitter nail varnish I got from boots that I adore. The glitters quite big chunks in different colours and looks fab. grin

I did my nails tonight with ordinary polish then put Barry M loose glitter dust all over, I used the bright blue. I put a clear polish on top or it catches on clothes .

It looks epic <modest>

NYC cheapy stuff do a really nice glitter one you put on top of your base colour.

Barry M Rose Quartz glitter. Super shiny and cheap. Buy 1 get 1 half price on cosmetics at Boots. I got this too.

MrsCampbellBlack Sun 11-Nov-12 21:58:12

Yeay - have got all these noted. Thanks so much

cocolepew Sun 11-Nov-12 22:00:03

Thanks for the Glamour info!

Models Own, I think chunkier glitters show up more than finer glitters.

If you want a burgundy one, Barry M pink sapphire is a mix of burgundy and silver hexagons and thin strips of silver plus a fine pink glitter - it looks amazing over burgundy nail polishes.

Barry M actually have a great selection and are a total bargain smile

Am trying to get the Rose Quartz one mentioned above but everywhere I go, it has sold out <sigh>

cocolepew Sun 11-Nov-12 22:11:46

Rose quartz and pink sapphire look lovely.

CointreauVersial Sun 11-Nov-12 22:57:50

Barry M Pink Sapphire is the one I bought too. Haven't tried it yet, but it looks really nice and chunky.

Has anyone tried just "glittering" the tips of the nail? I quite fancy having a go.

The Serena Williams one on QVC. It's fantastic, enormous sequins - looks like tiny mirrors.

When i glitter my tips, i leave the main coat to dry and put a little clear on the tips just roughly and put glitter on the nail, gently though.

It looks lovely with a deep red and a gold tips.

Want a messy look i get a stick and drag the clear down my nail not to hard and it looks like that glitter is falling grin

OPI Crown Me Already is fab - silver not burgundy though - but would look great on an accent nail. It's one of my favourites.

Models Own, Hed Kandi in Ibiza Mix (multi-coloured glitter). They stock it in Boots.

Big, fat flecks of glitter. Much better than tiddly little flecks.
