Anyone done AA316 19th C Novel or AA363 Advanced Creative Writing?

(4 Posts)
Thanks guys. Luckily I have read Middlemarch many times, and as I am not a big Dickens fan I will be concentrating on that for TMA questions and exam. I surprised myself by doing my first TMA on Jane Eyre, when I initially intended to go for Northanger Abbey, which I knew well, but I so enjoyed studying Jane Eyre that I wanted to write an essay on it.
In the throes of preparing for TMA02 now and loving it!

I taught AA316 a few years ago. IMO it is a cracking course with a good range of C19 novels. As MissGB says, get started early on the reading; it'll take a while. And likewise, ask anything you like if I can help.

Hi, only just seen this thread. I did 19thC novel last year and thoroughly enjoyed it. There is a lot of reading though, so I'd get cracking on Dombey and Son or Middlemarch (you don't need to study both really) as soon as possible. If you have any specific questions then feel free to ask away!
I signed up for both of these on Friday as my offer of an MA place was withdrawn at the last minute because the university didn't tell me that they needed the results of my last two OU courses which I won't have until December. Grrr. I can have a place next year, which I will keep as insurance though I really hope to get a place on a PGCE course next year.
So in order to keep my brain active and because they sound interesting I have signed up for the two courses above and am wondering whether anyone else on here has done or is doing them?

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
