Can I just have a moan about my dd stepmother ?

Nothing major but just little things grind on me, I actually went to school with my ex husbands new wife! She joined my junior school when she was about 7 or 8 and we also went through secondary together!

Now we knew each other, shared a school bus etc but we're never great friends, I stayed friends with the girls I started nursery school with, went all through school with them and we are still best friends now! She had another group of friends but we knew each other and got on but really didn't know each other!

Now I'm just getting annoyed with the things she tells my dd most of which aren't true!

Now I have boob implants, not a huge secret but didn't feel the need to tell my 4 year old about something I had done when she was a baby, would of told her when she was older, yet the step mum told her this!

My dd bites her toenails Hmm they never need cutting, step mum cut her already non existent toenail, she came home crying they were sore, which within two days got badly infected, step mum then told her I used to bite my toenails growing up....... Ummm no I didn't!!!!!

I had I really messy bedroom growing up, you couldn't see my floor..... Step mum never came to my house growing up we were not good friends!

I'm tallisht and naturally very slim, I also used to smoke socially, I'm not pregnant and stepm tells my dd that my baby is going to be really big because tall people have big babies and that it will be another girl because I smoked Hmm ( like my dd I'm expecting a small baby again and measuring 4 weeks behind dates, already having growth scans) where as she will have a boy because she has never smoked and her baby will be tiny because she is 2 inches shorter than me and is diabetic Grin

I got hair extensions, I have very fine hair and had some put in, not overly long just below shoulders but it adds a bit of thickness, step mum made a huge deal about me having fake hair to dd went out two weeks later and got herself some!

She got the same wallpaper, curtains, mirror, rug etc in lounge after she came in my house!

I know this is just trivial stuff but it's just bloody annoying! I'm fed up of hearing "Suzy says you/when you were little etc etc" (name changed)

Like I say nothing major but just bugs me!

Kill her.

The little things can bug you half to death.

Um, Confused

If you're not pregnant, why are you having growth scans?

As for the other stuff, I wouldn't place too much value on how your DD has interpreted what her SMum says; kids that age will often say the most outrageous things (my DD told her nursery workers that we kept her in a cupboard at home).

If she's injured your DD cutting her toenails, then that's an issue for you to take up with your DDs dad; other then they, nod and smile, and focus on your possible pregnancy!

Oh good god - she sounds utterly barking! Poor you, I have NO idea what you can do about it though, other than telling your DD not to believe a word that comes out of the daft bats mouth!

You are having a run of it this week aren't you - all of this and the mad woman ringing you telling you the bloke you were seeing is married with 3 kids Shock (that was you wasn't it?!).

I imagine it's a typo for "now pregnant"

I would be tempted to start telling lies about when the step mother was young but that wouldn't be fair on your DD really.

Just tell your DD that Suzy didn't know you very well when you were little and must be confused.

I would have been fucking stabby if she cut my dds toenails that short! I hope you had words.

Regarding the copying of your things, I'd take it as a compliment she clearly thinks your awsome Grin

Regarding what she is tellng your dd, I'd be really inclined to mention it to her in passing, in a bemused kind of way.

Your 4 year old may be getting a bit creative.

The toes nails though are worrying and your Ex should have dealt with that.

Whose baby are you having? The contractor who's cheating on his wife?

Being copied might well be a compliment but it drives you crazy.
My Mum's pal's dd used to copy my everything, I hated her.

gertie I'm inclined to agree, but the OP has welcomed her DDs SM into her home, and spends time in her company (otherwise, how would SMum know about the furnishings, hair extensions etc?)
When you're an adult, you can avoid being copied by avoiding sharing details of your life with people who do it!

Sorry should of said I have a older dd as well, the story about the boobs was to the youngest when she was 4, she is 7 now!

Yes it has been a weekend of it, no I'm not pregnant by the contractor like I said we had exchanged a few messages over the course of a few months, after he left were I worked I told him I was pregant by my now ex bf and was going it alone, nothing dodgy happened between us, he works away and was asking me to visit him and when he gets back to met up for lunch, can 100% see why his wife is upset though, he lied to me about being married with kids, had I known there would of been no contact at all!

I don't invite step mum in my home, I have minimal todo with her, but she came in once few months back when youngest had a very bad accident at school which resulted in her needing a plastic surgeon to repair the damage, step mum and dd dad visited once at home after she was discharged from the hospital to bring gifts, they were here about 15 mins!

Also mistake in post I am in fact 37 weeks pregnant!

Please read my thread about being contacted out the blue by a lady thinking I was seeing her husband! Should clear it up, was in contact last few months, he knew I was pregnant and single so clearly not looking for anything but we got on well and I was willing to have lunch with him and keep in touch, I wasn't aware he was actually a married man with children, I'm just glad I found out know and not further down the road because who knows what the outcome then may of been!

The contractor did try and call me a few times last night, I just switched his calls straight to answer phone, have no intrest in being involved with that at all

I think you probably need to be a bit cautious about taking everything your DD days as a direct quote of her DSM. Sounds like her DSM chats to your DD and offers views on things that aren't always the same as your, and your DD is trying to work it all out by sounding everything out on you, but possibly with a few misunderstandings and exaggerations thrown in, as happens with 4 year olds.

You should here some of the things I hear from my DSC about their DM!

If you're finding it really wearing, you could try just changing the subject sometimes. Point out to DD that her DSM doesn't actually know you very well so may just be guessing some things.

Yeah I did think that to to start with but I also hear it from my older dd 11.

I know it trivial and not important but sometimes I just want to tell her to bloody shut up!!!

Just one of these things that grate on you sometimes

I agree it's irritating - maybe it's easier for mums who are also stepmums to tolerate from their own DCs because they know, at the back of their mind, that their SDCs are driving their own mum to distraction in the same way? Grin

Sounds like this woman has a little of the green eyed monster towards you.

I'd be annoyed if she'd said I'd smoked during my pregnancy though but that's something to address with your ex though.
