Finally met the ex!

DH and I went to get kids and were going straight off with them (I never go normally), today though as it's end of year he was going into the school to look at dsd work. He told me exgf wouldn't be there but she was. All very nice, we all sat together, she met ds and it was nice. Bit of chit chat (I was quite nervous) but all went well :) leaps and bounds. We are moving on to a better place :)

Even more reason for me now to persuade DH not to bring up weights issues. It will only damage it all

That's excellent. Much better for everyone if you can all get along.

It really is Grin, and I don't know why but I feel calmer with the kids. I hope it stays this way, I'm not asking for friendship but after 6 years I think we are all happy with each other. She knows I'm not overstepping, just trying, and I know she's not resenting me and making it hard to bond with the kids. Can't tell you how happy this one encounter has made me feel.

Aw that's lovely, especially that she was happy for you to be involved. It's always good to hear a positive ex story!

After I did ask DH if it was strange for him sitting in the middle of us two, he said no but he must have had some feelings about it, not that he's letting on Wink

That's brilliant! It's great for you, the adults, to be able to behave in an "adult" fashion but more importantly, soooo good for the kids. Wish my situation had been like this. Too late now.
